06 Laboratory Exercise 1 – ARG

1. On what specific part of the program were the java.awt and javax.swing packages
used? Explain how. (Essay: 15 points)

java.awt package was used in creating the frame for the program, resizing the frame
in any size the programmer wants to set. It also served as the way in adding action
listeners during the coding of the program including the text field wherein a user can
input a website to know the IP address of that website. javax.swing package was used
in the program to create the button for finding the IP address of a website to find the
IP of the website that was input by the user. It can be used to set the bounds of the
button and even of the text field and through javax.swing, it can also be possible to
prompt the exit of the program so it will be possible to close the GUI program by
simply clicking the “X” button of the program. It is also used to create JFrame title, set
its layout, and make it visible.

2. On what specific part of the program was the java.awt.event package used? Explain
how. (Essay: 15 points)

The java.awt.event package was used for creating listeners for the program in order
for the text field and the “Find IP” button to work with each other to generate IP
address of the website encoded on the text field.

3. After re-examining the program and finding another suitable framework, search for at
least five (5) mobile user interface (UI) toolkits which are not included in 06 Handout
1. Provide the following details for each toolkit:

I think it can help the developers and designers create a better user interface
because it allows them to put psd files on the said toolkit. Also, when creating
a UI through that toolkit, they should allow users to create an account using
their G-Mail account, Facebook account, and even their Yahoo! Mail account.

I think it can help the developers and designers create a better user interface
because it allows them to create a messaging app or UI in a contemporary
style and this toolkit was inspired by Skype, Facebook Messenger, WhatsApp,
etc.

I think it can help the developers and designers create a better user interface
by spreading the convenience of online shopping because it is the trend when
it comes to shopping. Also, they can use this toolkit to create an e-Commerce
website that is user friendly for both sellers and buyers including the feature
to buy or sell large quantity of products online and there should be free-
shipping offer just like Shopee.

and/or destinations. Through this kit, it is possible to make a UI that is similar
with Google Maps, Waze, and the like.

I think it can help the developers and designers create a better user interface
by creating a user friendly navigation iOS application through the said UI kit.
Aside from that, it can be possible to make an offline navigator through the
UI kit if utilized very well.

I think it can help the developers and designers create a better user interface
by utilizing the toolkit in order for them to create a simple but elegant music
player for music enthusiasts and it will be better if they will put visualizations
on the player so it will resemble the Windows Media Player and they should
allow their users to put the lyrics on the song that they have manually. In that
way, it will be lively and colorful and elegant to
