is delicate and fair, and so people call her Snow White. Snow White’s
stepmother is jealous at her beauty. Every
day she asks her magic mirror the same
question:
‘Mirror, mirror on the wall, who is the
fairest one of all?’
The answer is always the same: ‘You are,
your Majesty!’
But, one day, the queen hears a different
answer:
‘Snow White is the fairest one of all!’
The stepmother is furious!

2
She doesn’t want Snow White in her kingdom anymore. She makes a plan
to get rid of the girl. She calls one of her servants, gives him a lot of
money and says: ‘Take her far away into
the forest, far away from the castle,
and kill her there!
‘But, your Majesty! How can I kill the
little princess?’, asks the servant.
‘Silence! Do what I tell you to do! Bring
me her heart in this box! I want to be
sure that she is dead!’

The servant is shocked because

he is a good man and does not
want to kill the lovely pincess.
He takes the Snow White into
the forest and tells her all about
the queen’s plan.
‘I can’t do it! I can’t hurt you!
The queen is mad! Run, run away
my princess!’, the servant shouts.

WHY WISDOM IS EVERYWHERE
Nyame is the God of the sky. One day Nyame gives Anancy, the spider,
a huge pot. In this pot there is all the wisdom of the world. Nyame tells
Anancy to share the wisdom with everyone he meets.
The pot is full of wonderful pictures, stories, music and many more
exciting ideas. Every day Anancy looks in the pot and he learns something
new. But Anancy is really greedy and doesn’t want to share the wisdom.
‘I want to keep it for myself!’ he thinks. So Anancy decides to hide the
pot of wisdom at the top of a tall tree, where no one else can find it.
He ties a rope around the pot and then ties it around his waist. He
starts climbing. But the pot is too heavy and keeps getting in Anancy’s
way and bumps against his tummy. Anancy’s son watches him climb the
tree. ‘Tie the pot to your back,’ he shouts, ‘That way it is easier to climb
the tree.’ So Anancy ties the pot to his back and very soon he is at the
top of the tree.
But when Anancy gets to the top he becomes very angry. ‘My son knows
more than I do and I have the pot of wisdom,’ he says. ‘How can that
be?’ Anancy is so angry that he throws the pot away. Crash! The pot
breaks into hundred of pieces. Whoosh! The wisdom flies everywhere!
People find bits of wisdom and start taking them home to their friends
and families.
That is why no one person has all the world’s wisdom. People everywhere
share their ideas with their friends.

canoes or on wild horses. They are at peace with
the world.

it in his hands. He has an idea. ‘I’m going to make

He runs and shouts: ‘Listen up, people! I have a
question for Paco. He can’t answer it. Come to his tepee!’
Every Indian rushes to Paco’s tepee. He is sitting outside it. He is looking
at the fire.
‘I have a qustion for you, old man!’ he says. ‘Is the bird in my hands dead
or alive?’
Akado thinks: ‘If Paco says it is alive, I’ll sqeeze it. When I open my hands,
the bird will drop dead. If he says it is dead, I will open my hands and
the bird will fly away. Whatever he says, he can’t be right.’

say. But he does not speak.
