SHARK TANK REVIEW.
Shark Tank is an entrepreneurship and business reality show that allows new
entrepreneurs to present their projects in order to ensure financial support to bring
their business to exponential growth along with the experience of the "sharks". This
reality has been adapted in several countries, being the most well-known and
successful United States show. However, I will focus on Shark tank Colombia,
which has successfully become a benchmark for entrepreneurship in the country;
the program has received more than 5,000 investment project registrations. Among
these is the "Easy Line" startup by Mateo Bolivar, a third-semester business
administration student.
At just 19 years old, he created a platform that connects customers with
establishments to improve waiting processes. Mateo argues that an average
restaurant needs 30 waiting discs to be working, each disc has a market value of
approximately 2000 pesos and if you talk to the owner of the restaurant they lose
about three each month, that is, 3 million pesos invested in a system where
customers know the food is ready. Easy Line offers an application where
customers can request their orders and shifts and also access a system of
agreements and benefits, in the end, Mateo stays with the businessman Alex in
exchange for a financing of 56 million pesos and 7% of the company and with the
condition that they must leave the university where they have a full scholarship for
academic excellence.
This chapter was remarkably interesting and controversial. In my opinion, the
university is important because apart from giving you a degree and in a certain
way, a more stable and secure future for job opportunities; the university leads you
to acquire values such as discipline and knowledge that can help you develop skills
to go to the next level. Mateo has incredible potential and all the "sharks" agreed
with that, therefore, I think Alex's condition was to see how committed he was to
the project and even looking at the comments, it was like that. "I did not withdraw
from university, I have learned a lot from Alex's hand, Easy Line continues working
and I started a new project successfully," wrote Mateo Bolivar recently. In
conclusion, for me, studies, experience, and entrepreneurship are the three
necessary pillars to achieve and maintain success in business.
