conversion from one type to another is coded to 47535-47537. Stent are completely
internal
tubes that hold the biliary tract open and do not drain to the outside.
Percutaneous placement
of a stent i coded to 47538. Percutaneou dilation, biop y or removal of calculi are
coded as
add-on codes with codes 47542-47544.
