A. – ing and – ed Adjective

Adjectives which come from verbs (participles) can have two forms:

Verb Adjective 1 ( present Participle) Adjective 2 (Past Participle)

amuse amusing amused

bore boring bored

embarrass embarrassing embarrassed

interst intersting interesting

please pleasing pleased

surprise surprising surprised

worry worrying worried

 We use the –ed form of interest to talk about how people feel.
 I’m intereted in Math.
 Ines was excited to go on bus around Jakarta

 We use the – ing form of interest to talk about subject.

 It was surprising that he got 750 for TOEIC test.

B. Modul Auxaliary “should”

The modal “should” gives information about wether something is a good idea.
We often use “should” to express an opinion.
Examples: - You should watch the new stand –up comedy. It’s really entertaining.

- You shouldn’t watch too much television

I think smoking rooms should be provided in public place because it will be better for
people who don’t smoke. Smoking really has a bad impact on passive smokers. They
don’t smoke and they get sick because of smokers. This is really unfair and a detriment
to people who don’t smoke.
