Mammals producing milk has been an important part in since agriculture started.

One of the first domesticated animals are goat about 10,000 years ago. The practice was first
started in western parts of Asia.
About 9000 years ago, eastern Sahara adapted the domestication of cattle.
One of the primary reasons for domestication was that it was an easier and safer source to get
meant rather than hunting.
These domestic animals were also a good source for milk and the milk products.
The early traces indicate, milk processing was adapted during the early Neolithic revolution
about 9000 years ago in north-western parts of Anatolia followed by eastern Europe in 6000BC,
Africa in 5000BC and Britain and parts of northern Europe in 4000BC.

The modern dairy farming came into practice in early 1900 after the development of
pasteurization.
