L. HOUSING

The LGU Calbayog has established a Housing Division under the City Mayor’s Office that
serves as the center for operational control, supervision and management of the various urban
Poor housing and resettlement programs, projects and activities implemented in the local
government unit.

Aside from providing security of tenure to the informal settlers, it is also in charge of the
social engineering on all government projects before its implementation. Informal settlers
affected by the development of the areas shown in the pictures were resettled in the city’s
resettlement sites.

Relative to the land banking program, the city identified several areas potential for
housing projects, to wit: Brgy. Rawis, Brgy. Balud, Brgy. Capoocan, Brgy. San Policarpo, Brgy.
Carmen, Brgy. East Awang, Brgy. Hamorawon, Brgy. Gadgaran, Brgy. Basud and Brgy. Dagum,
with a total area of 366,704 sq. m. and generated 2,350 lots.
