I think there are a number of plausible reasons why it is asserted that

people of different cultures and ages can come together through music.
To begin with, it can motivate the general people in any situations. For
example, the patriotic songs play a pivotal role in inspiring people of all
classes and backgrounds towards nationalism. This is because music has
a language of its own that is free from any kind of cultural or religious
bias. Since it is not required for the people to play music at any specific
time and place, they can enjoy and be influenced by it whenever they
want. In addition, it could also be argued that in a musical concert, it is
often observed that people of all ages converge/gather to enjoy music.
For instance, a recent survey has revealed that in a concert, the old
participate as cheerfully as the young. Therefore, it is evident that music
influences people to come together and think in the same way.
However, those who are against this argue that instead of making
people come together, music creates division and discord among people.
This is due to the fact that a piece of music which is loved by one group
of people may be totally detested by another group. For instance, a
significant number of young people love heavy metal music which is not
even tolerated by many old people. Moreover, music can turn into a
nuisance when it is played on a loud stereo system for a long time. . This
is not only frustrating for many people but also can be regarded as sound
pollution.
To sum up, considering the aforementioned factors associated with music , I would like to state my opinion that I
