Islington Square

Bringing a new dimension to retailing

“Shopping will become increasingly more experiential,
creative, informative, design- and socially-conscious,
a place for people to come together. It’s also an
opportunity for a brand to communicate its mission,
its values, build community, and create an emotional
connection.”

Residency and COVID 19

The safety of your staff and customers is of the utmost

importance to Residency. We keep close track of the latest
government advice and industry practice as it evolves around
the pandemic’s local implications.

While it is ultimately up to each retailer to put into practice

the measures best suited to the environment they create in
Residency, we are here to advise and support.

Currently, the government advises that retailers:

• Complete a Covid 19 risk assessment
• Clean more frequently
• Ask customers to wear face coverings
• Make sure everyone is social distancing
• Increase ventilation
• Take part in NHS ‘Test and Trace’
• Turn people with coronavirus symptoms away

Additionally, we believe that it is important to:

• Give clear communication to customers, and be transparent
about protective measures, both online and at the store
entrance
• Ensure that there will be easy, understandable navigation
throughout the shopping experience, to make social distancing
seamless and not disrupt the customer journey

Case Study: LSA International

Quality that needs to be seen to be believed... In December

2020, e-commerce homewares brand LSA International took
a Residency at our flagship location, Islington Square. As their
first ever pop-up store, their ambition was to showcase their
beautiful handmade glassware collections in an innovative,
sustainable and experiential setting.

Themed around ‘A Journey Through a Winter’s Day’, the central

display depicted place settings for breakfast, lunch, dinner and
after dinner drinks. We love how they used bespoke video on
the projector to amplify the physical display.

Case Study: Artorius Fabor

If your audience won’t come to you, then you need to go to

them - which is exactly what natural stone company Artorius
Fabre did. With their quarry based in Dorest, the team used
their Residency at Islington Square as a pop-up showroom,
where they invited London-based architects to experience the
quality of their products. We salute their sustainable use of
pallets, which doubled up as transport and display tables.
