Issue being addressed by NGO:


Every day girls, especially from marginalized communities/families, face barriers to education. Many of them
drop out of school. To improve access to secondary education the GoI runs residential schools called
Kasturba Gandhi Balika Vidyalayas.
Sadly, we realize that schools perpetuate the gender stereotypes and despite schooling girls lack voice and
agency. Along with poor learning outcomes we find that even with education the life outcomes for girls
remain unchanged.

Organization Background:

Ugam Education Foundation (`UEF`) is a charitable organization registered under section 8 of the Companies
Act 2013. Ugam envisions a world where outcomes and experiences of education are meaningful for all.
