Executive Summary

The world around us is changing rapidly. Global integration has led to humans moving out of
their birthplace in search of education, jobs etc. Consequently, they have to strive to stay
connected with their social circle. This demands that we do everything differently and
communication is no exception when it comes to doing things in a different way. The method
to achieve this communication should be convenient, affordable, advertisement free.

ChatChat is a messaging app that ameliorates these concerns. It empowers users to stay
connected to their loved ones without any hassle of enduring advertisements.

It empowers users to stay
connected with their loved ones giving them hassle free experience.

Background

ChatChat allows users to connect with their friends and family overseas. Its target audience
can be classified as:
 Migrant Workers
 Student Migrants
 Families, friends living across international borders
 International Business travellers

This application aims to be an asset for people who are working abroad. It will be a crucial
equipment for parents whose wards are studying abroad. Therefore, the application is
designed to serve a significant need of connecting among people staying abroad and their
families and friends.

The application is envisioned to be user-friendly as it will cater to people from a wide variety
of age groups. It should not be cumbersome unlike similar service providers like
BlackBerry’s BBM, Google’s G-Talk, Skype, E-mail, Facebook, other social media
applications. Also, these applications fail to provide a holistic solution to the users
considering issues like excessive ads, promotions, non-user-friendly, exclusivity etc. (Refer
appendix 1)

ChatChat offers a holistic solution to such issues by providing a simple messaging platform
which works on any phone number on any operating system with real time updates. It also
ensures that users are not disturbed by any promotional ads.

Opportunity

Development of ChatChat involves 8 phases (Refer Appendix 2)

 Researching
 Wireframing
 Evaluating Technical Feasibility
 Developing
 Prototype
 Design
 Testing
 Deployment
Currently, ChatChat is in the developmental phase. The expected time for the launch of a
prototype is four months. This involves the feedback collection from various focus groups to
incorporate them into the application before the final launch.

4|Page
ChatChat will be first launched on the Apple App Store. Thereafter, it will be promoted using
the following methods (Refer Appendix 3):
 Social media advertisements like Facebook, wherein the type of target audience
along with the area can be managed
 Search engine optimization methods ensure that the app is conspicuous on search
engines like Google
 App store optimization to ensure that the application has a higher ranking in the app
store
 In-app promotions in various other apps which are primarily popular among
international travellers, students, workers etc.
 Promoting the application among influencers of various migrant communities to
spread the word of mouth
 Provide vouchers for good referral practices by users
 Offline promotions using flyers in areas where migrants primarily live and frequent
The metrics of ChatChat’s success are:
 Number of App downloads
 App store ratings
 Retention Rates
 User metrics
o Daily Active Users
o Monthly Active Users
o Stickiness
 Cost per acquisition
 The average revenue per user
(Refer Appendix 4)

Financial Summary

ChatChat is a low-cost application with initial investment including:

 Cloud Infrastructure
 Employees
 Promotions
For monthly employee recruitment cost please refer Appendix 7.
The projected year on year cost structure is given in Appendix 8.

ChatChat will be a free application for the first 3 years, during which, the application aims to
increase its reach. During this time the application will target the smartphones of 10% of all
North American immigrants. This totals 10,000,000 (Refer Appendix 9). In the fourth year,
ChatChat will be priced at $5.99. Estimating a 30% conversion rate, ChatChat should be able
to meet its current and past costs within 2 years. Furthermore, since ChatChat has a two-step
revenue system as shown in appendix 5, it not only converts the migrants but also their
family and friends. This would further expand the reach of ChatChat. For cost vs revenue vs
user analysis refer appendix 10. Thus, ChatChat will be a favourable enterprise within the 5
years of its launch. Expecting an increase in Migration rates as shown in Appendix 11,
ChatChat will be a must-have application for all migrants.

communication. The convenience coupled with low cost promises a huge revenue through a

faster and ChatChat would become a successful venture. This would promise Arrow Ventures
