 Work Offline with CATIA V6 Release 2013x !! 

Hi All,

As you may know CATIA V6 works connected to a centralized database, providing secure access to the same 3D design data
to anyone from anywhere over the internet. This results in many benefits:

- Database sychronization between Design Centers is NOT needed any more which can take hours to days, thereby helping
increase Engineering efficiency.

- Designers have instant access to each other’s updates resulting in reduced design incompatibilities and higher design
accuracy.

- Design Managers are able to leverage designers with the right skills from other design centers on their projects to develop
innovative designs.

BUT what if the designers don't have access to the network when they are traveling or offsite ?

=> We are providing this new capability called "ENOVIA VPM On the Go" aka "Offline Mode" in release V6R2013x which
allows designers to work with CATIA V6 even when they are off the network while protecting design data and maintaining the
data integrity.

Paul,
We don't have any way to revoke the license already extracted locally. In the situation you describe the license will be revoked
automatically after the expiration of offline duration.

 I dont know i i get it right from  the presentation, but do you need a license for "VPM on the go" to be able to extract another
license from the server? (eg. ALX)

Hi, I believe you can only withdraw licenses for the products that work in offline mode.  In this context, you will be limited to VPM
and a few of its add-ons (for example CGE, PIC, etc.).

Marcin,
Yes you got that right. ALX is All-In-One CATIA V6 Marketing license. To be able to extract any CATIA V6 license locally you
need to be assigned the VND license. VND license enables offline capability within CATIA V6.

Keep in mind that ALX is an internal DS license.  I just want to make sure customers reading this post do not wonder about it.
