GLYCOSYLATED HEMOGLOBIN (HBA1C)*BLOOD
GLYCOSYLATED HB (HbA1c) 6.80 %
Method: HPLC
NORMAL RANGE:
The measurement of HbA1c is recommended for monitoring the long-term care of people with
diabetes because the concentration of HbA1c within red blood cells reflects the average level
of blood sugar over the previous 2-3 months. The level of HbA1c therefore rises proportionately
in patients with higher levels of blood sugar, such as those with uncontrolled or undiagnosed
diabetes. The measures of HbA1c is therefore a refelection of glucose control over a far longer
period than a blood glucose value & it remains unaffected by the short term fluctuation in blood sugar levels.
Dietary preparation or Fasting not Required .
USE
* Monitor diabetic Patients Compliance and long term blood glucose control.
* Index of Diabetic Control.(direct relationship between poor control and development of complications)
* Predicts development and progression of Diabetic microvascular complications.
