PROFESSIONAL DEVELOPMENT PROGRAM

The Bridge to Equity

Presented by Natalie McGee

Through a process of critical reflection on culture, participants

will be better able to identify their own bias and identify hidden
barriers to inclusion. Tools will be used to understand cultural
knowledge at the individual and school level. Participants will
have an opportunity to engage in courageous conversations
around issues that emerge in diverse environments. This session
will provide an overview of the equity through cultural proficiency
approach by examining:
• Why equity through cultural proficiency is necessary as a shared priority,
• What is needed to experience cultural proficiency at the individual and organizational
level, and
• How we might ensure a common language and common understanding of the tools
necessary for the work
