Subject: requesting to have two weeks extension to prepare the assignment

My name is (name) and I am a (year) student in your (class-module).

I am writing to you to ask if you can grant me additional time for the assignment, which is

supposed to be due on Wednesday. Unfortunately, I am behind with the assignment because I

have had difficulty in finding the course book to be used in the assignment. This has made it

extremely difficult for me to prepare the assignment. I know this is no excuse for the delay for

submission but I request you to extend the deadline so that I can be able to find the reference

book and make a good project.

In addition, would also want to know more about regulations regarding late work. I understand

that late submission is not good. Having said that, I will try my best the assignment and submit it

within the period you will give me. This is because I would like to be more cautious in my

future assignments.
I was also requesting permission to use different sources for books and information and request

for assistance for writing for oversees students. This is because; I have not being able to find the

reference book you had requested.
