Alternate Ending Literature

Project

The purpose of the literature project is to demonstrate your


understanding of the short story you have selected to read. You will
create an alternate ending for this reading selection. The ending must
be a minimum of two pages. The tone and attitude of the characters
must be consistent with the characters in the book, in addition to the
setting details. Furthermore, the ending must be written in the same
style as the author.

2) Summarize the reading selection in one paragraph:


Characters:- Derry And Mr.Lamb
Derry is a young boy who had scar on his face, He was very upset
and he feels that people do not want to interact with him.So to hide his
face,he went to old man’s garden.Mr.Lamb was a cheerful person,he
advised him to accept life as it comes.That young boy was moved by
Mr.Lamb’s words and tries to overcome that fear.When he did,he met
a great loss that Mr.Lamb was no more there with him.
3) What is the ending of the original piece?
Mr.Lamb climbs a ladder to pick some fruits on his own because he
had a thought that Derry will not come back.As he was old,it was
difficult for him to climb the ladder.Then he slips from ladder and
dies.But at the same time ,Derry returns to garden and he saw that
mr.Lamb was lying on floor.When he attends to move him,he didn’t
get any response.In the end,he cam to know that Mr.Lamb was dead
and starts crying.

4) Describe the point at which your ending begins.


The ending should have been like:- When Derry returns ,it should be
like Mr.Lamb was waiting for derry’s return.Then these two would
become good friends and inspire others to live life with hope and
happiness.
