“Emiko, good morning!”

“Good morning too Kaori.” Emiko said with a smile.

“Where is Hiroshi?”

“Don’t look for him. I have a good news. The two of us are classmate again.”

“I am happy to hear that.”

“Emiko! Kaori!” Hiroshi calling the two girls.

“Why are you late?”

“Sorry. Are we in the same class this year?”

“Unfortunately we aren’t.” Emiko’s respond.

“What?!”

“It’s okay Hiroshi. You can still come to our room during lunch break.” Kaori said to him.

The girls beside them started to gossip something.

“Isn’t that Tanaka Yamato?’

“Yes, that’s him. I heard his quite famous in his middle school.”

“Who wouldn’t be? His so handsome.”

“But there are rumors about him.”

“Like what?”

“His a womanizer.”

“Really?”

“Yup.”

The three friends turn around. Hiroshi wave to Yamato, while the two girls just stared to Yamato.

“Yamato!” Hiroshi calling him.

“Hiroshi.”

“I almost forgot about you.” Hiroshi said to him directly.

“That hurt.”

“These are my friends I talked to you about.”

“Hello Tachibana Emiko and Watanabe Kaori. I am Tanaka Yamato. Hiroshi’s cousin. You can just call me
Yamato.” He offered his right hand.

“Hello to you Yamato. I am Tachibana Emiko. You can just call me Emiko too.” Emiko smiled with her
best and shake Yamato’s hand.

“Watanabe Kaori. Pleased to meet you.”

“Pleased to meet you too Emiko and Kaori.”

“Let’s go to our classroom.” Hiroshi said.

Kaori and Emiko are childhood friends, making them best friends. The two of them doesn’t go to the
same elementary school, but still they update each other with their lives. They became classmates in
their middle school year and met Hiroshi. Hiroshi is Emiko’s desk mate. That’s how the three persons’
became friends.

The four of them head to their respective classroom. The girls are classmate, while the other two are
not. Lunch break. Hiroshi go to Yamato’s classroom first to fetch him and then they went to the girls’
classroom to eat together.

“Kaori! Emiko!” Hiroshi calling them outside their classroom.

Emiko then used her hand to let Hiroshi come in.

“I brought Yamato with me.”

“It’s alright. The more the merrier.” Emiko said to Hiroshi.

“Emiko, I’ll just go buy us some drinks.” Kaori said opening her bag to get her purse.

“I will go with you too.” Emiko volunteer.

“Stay here with me. It will be awkward for Yamato and me.”

“I’ll just go alone.” Kaori stand up and is about to leave.

Yamato suddenly speak up. “Hiroshi can stay here. I’ll go with you. I’ll buy mine since you doesn’t know
what I like.”

“You can just say it. I’ll buy yours too.”

“No, I insist.” Then Yamato stand up and head towards the door.

“But…”

“Are you going to buy or not?”

“It’s alright Kaori. Its better also that someone will go along with you. Yamato knows what he wants to
buy for himself. And it would be not gentleman of him to go with you.” Hiroshi said.

“You can come.” Kaori said to Hiroshi.

“Yes you can go with him Hiroshi. Why Yamato?” Emiko said curiously.

Yamato suddenly grabbed Kaori’s purse. “Let’s just go.” Yamato walk making Kaori follow him.

“You can go with Kaori or as what you said earlier, you can be a gentleman.” Emiko said to Hiroshi.

“I feel too lazy to walk. Your classroom is in different building.”

“Then will have to wait for them before we can eat.”

“It will be fine with me.”

Yamato and Kaori walks silently. Kaori is uncomfortable being alone with him. Yamato spoke up to break
the silence.

“I know you are uncomfortable with me. But we can still talk.”

“I don’t want to.”

“Why not?”

“I just don’t want to.”

“Is there a particular reason?”

“I just met you today and it doesn’t mean we are directly friends.”
“You’re so straightforward.”

“I just want to be honest.”

“But why is your friend Emiko comfortable with me now?”

“She’s friendly, but don’t include me.”

“You know. This attitude of a girl makes me more feel interested.”

“I am not a fish you can easily catch.”

“Then I will not use a fishing a line. There are other ways.”

“If you are interested with a girl you need to have patient and perseverance to achieve your goal.”

“Ha! Ha!” making Kaori laugh sarcastically.

“What’s with that?”

“We are just going to buy drinks. Stop being too comfortable talking to me.”

“Okay. But it doesn’t mean I am not serious with what I said earlier.”

“Did you just agree to come with me to say that?”

“Yes.”

“You’re crazy.”

“At least, I am being honest too.”

“Let’s just hurry. Time is our enemy. We still need to go back in my classroom.”

Yamato just smiled. After what that they go back to Kaori’s classroom with silence again.

“You’re finally here. My belly is calling for my food.” Hiroshi said touching his stomach.

“You just have pets in your stomach.” Emiko teasing Hiroshi.

“Sorry. It took us so long.” Kaori apologizing.

“You don’t need to say sorry Kaori. We should be thankful because you offer to buy us drinks.” Emiko
said.

“Can we eat already?” Hiroshi complaining.

“Of course.”

Kaori and Hiroshi sat down. Then they started to eat. Hiroshi then whispered something to Yamato.

“Yamato, why do I feel like something happened between you and Kaori?”

“Just eat.”

“Something happened.”

“Hmmm. What are you whispering Hiroshi? We are still here.” Emiko interrupted the two making
Hiroshi look to her.

“Just let them be Emiko.” Kaori said to her.

“Okay. Boys have their own chats too.”

Hiroshi just continue to eat. Then Emiko asked Yamato.

“Eh Yamato, can you tell us where you entered middle school or your elementary school perhaps?”
“I entered Tokyo Arts Middle School.”

“That’s a private school. Why didn’t you enroll in a private school this time?”

“I just want to.”

“What is your talent Yamato? Why Tokyo Arts Middle School?”

“I know how to paint.”

“Really? That’s amazing. How about your elementary school?”

“Manabi Elemantary School.”

“Kaori, you and Yamato have the same primary school.”

“I don’t remember him.”

“Maybe the two of you are not classmates. Am I right Yamato?”

“Why are you imitating Kaori’s answer? Be professional.” Hiroshi said.

“Really?”

“Would you stop imitating them too Hiroshi.” Emiko said and slap Hiroshi’s left arm.
