Referees

Beginning of class
Warm up with class on court or sideline

During Station work or practices

- Asks coaches who is NOT present from their team & report
it to teacher
- Review/learn stats sheet and hand signals on clipboard
- Assure whistle works
- Make sure at least one student has a whistle

During class & games

- Stand on opposite sides from each other close to the net
next to the white sideline
-Assure scorekeeper keeps track of score correctly
- Works with the scorekeepers and helps with their stats
- Makes sure the correct team is serving and they rotate
properly

By the End of EACH game

- Assure score is correct from scorekeepers and coaches
- Assure all volleyballs are away (referee can hold on to one
ball for next game if applicable)
 Score Keepers
Beginning of class
- Warm up with class and put 2 min. On the timer/clock
- During games = Assure score sheets are ready with
completed info at top of sheet

During Station work or practices

- Assure each team has correct positions, team number and
team name
- Assure pencils are sharpened (sharpener inside closet)
- Review/learn stats sheet on clipboard
- Prepare the order of the games (which teams play first,
second, third)

During class/games
- Keep track of statistics during the games
- Keep track of time/score of the game using the scoreboard
or score flip card
- write final score of EACH game on the stat sheet and circle
winning team on stat sheet

By the End of EACH game

- Assure score is correct from referees and coaches
- Assure all volleyballs are away (referee can hold on to one
ball for next game if applicable)
