Mechanical Workshop Safety Rules

1) Wear your coveralls all the time.
2) PPE’s must be stored in lockers not around the bench.
3) Always follow instructions and rules.
4) Do not take short cuts.
5) Ask for help if you need it.
6) If you don’t know how to use a piece of equipment then ask for help.
7) When using machinery always wear eye protection and machine guards.
8) Don’t touch machine or equipment unless you have permission.
9) Never blow dust or touch swarf.
10) Keep the workshop clean.
11) Never run in the workshop.
12) Avoid un-necessary distractions.
13) When using machines, long hair must be tied up and loose clothes
removed.
14) When finished with a machine, make sure tools are returned to the
correct place and the machine is cleaned down.
15) Use proper tool for job.
16) Make sure chemicals (if any) are properly labeled and stored.
17) Communicate hazards with others.
18) Always stop the machine for adjustments and measurements.
19) Never work alone in the workshop.
You are responsible for your own safety and safety of others.
Accidents happen when people forget the basic safety rules.
