Subject Title: Geographic Information Systems Subject Code: GIS443

INTRODUCTION:
The skills learned in chapter 2 enabled you to interact with a map document. In this chapter, we will explore addi tional
enhancements for our maps including visible scale ranges, labeling features, map tips and hyperlinks. We will also
continue to learn about attribute tables. In order to display our data and integrate what we learned about the basic
elements of map design we will build map layouts and produce different forms of output for them.

LEARNING OBJECTIVES:
Upon successful completion of this section, the student will be able to:
1. Build an interactive GIS.
2. Build map layouts.
3. Build map animations.

LEARNING ACTIVITIES:
• Review the power point presentations presented in class.
• Complete the following tutorials:
 3-1 Building an interactive GIS
 3-2 Creating map layouts
 3-3 Reusing a custom map layout
 3-4 Creating a custom map template with two maps
 3-5 Adding a report to a layout
 3-6 Adding a graph to a layout
 3-7 Building a map animation
