User Interface
Oriented cube
An oriented cube is now available at the top right of the graphics area. This cube allows you to quickly change the
orientation of the camera. Its orientation is always linked to the absolute coordinate system, the top face
corresponding to the XY plane of the absolute coordinate system.
The cube is not displayed in conical perspective.
Clicking and dragging one of the cube's corners allows you to perform a 3D rotation.
Clicking and dragging one of the cube's chamfers allows you to rotate around the X, Y or Z axis.
4 TopSolid
TopSolid 2020 What's New in TopSolid'Wood v6.21
Left-clicking on one of the cube's faces allows you to position yourself in the corresponding orientation. Double-
clicking on one of the faces allows you to change the orientation and automatically zoom in globally.
When the view is perpendicular to one of the cube's faces, the green half-spheres are used to select the inaccessible
faces of the cube.
Clicking and dragging the ring allows you to rotate around the Z axis of the absolute coordinate system.
The four North, South, East and West cardinal points are displayed on the ring. They are mainly used by customers
who work with the Image module. Indeed, this ring automatically orients itself to match the North of the cube with
the North defined in the sky light. You can change the North by right-clicking on the ring and selecting the Define
north command.
You can customize the default display of the cube via the Tools > Options > Compass command.

Assembly kit
Note: The Cams and dowels kit of the TopSolid'Wood library has been modified to manage non-parallel faces.
Once the option is enabled, the assembly kit can use the start and end faces that are not parallel.
In the example below, the two parts will be assembled. In previous versions, the assembly of these parts using a kit
failed because the faces are not parallel.
24 TopSolid
TopSolid 2020 What's New in TopSolid'Wood v6.21
The assembly kit is inserted. Since the start and end faces are not parallel, the assembly length corresponds to the
length of the contact face's enclosing box.
Note: Once the kit is included, you can modify the faces used to calculate the assembly length and thickness of the
assembled parts parameters. To do this, you only have to edit the assembly kit in the construction tree, then in the
Key positioning node, expand the Destination coordinate system node. You can then modify the faces used by
selecting the Reconnect command, then selecting a face or a point.

Kit inversion
You can now use a parameter that allows the assembly kit to be turned over when it is included.
Open a document containing an advanced assembly kit definition.
Edit the Advanced assembly kit set.
Right-click on the line of the set and select the More commands > Inversion management command to switch
the option to Yes.
Once the option is enabled, right-click on Inversion parameter, select the Replace command, then enter the
name of the parameter to be used.
Note: The parameter used must be a Boolean parameter and must control the orientation of the positioning
coordinate system of the components included in the kit. The Cams and dowels kit of the TopSolid'Wood library has
been modified to manage component inversion.
When using a kit that uses an inversion parameter, a yellow arrow appears during the insertion process. Clicking on
the arrow reverses the value of the parameter.

Here is the result in a bill of materials when it is generated from the Cabinet document.
Note: When the edges or laminates of the component are included in an assembly, so that they use the codifications
of the assembly and no longer those of the model, the following three conditions must be met:
- The Use edge and laminate codifications of assembly box must be checked in the assembly properties.
- The edges and laminates must be defined as modifiable in the assembly. To make the edges modifiable by
default in the assembly, you only have to check the Set edges modifiable in assembly option in the Tools >
Options > TopSolid'Wood configuration > Edge/laminate command. For the already created edges or
laminates, you only have to start the edge configurator and/or the laminate configurator, select the
edges/laminates and then select the Set modifiable in assembly option in the assembly.
- The edges or laminates must be modified in the assembly by a driver (e. g. a thickness driver on the panel) or
use a driver block in the component construction.

Exporting parts to be nested from one task manager to another user's task manager
Operation
A user injects some parts into his task manager, either manually, via an ERP import or via a list file, and wants to
distribute the nesting work to other users.
Requirements
All users must share the same $PUNCHDATA/ folder.
The PCH_PM_USE_COMMON_STORAGE_FILE configuration word must be set to 0.
Configuration
The part export features are not available in the Tools > Options command, but they are subject to configuration
words that must be entered manually in the topzpch.cfg file.
Configuration words
# Data transfer from the task manager to another user's task manager (COMPUTERNAME|USERNAME) - Selection
of parts to be nested (in $PUNCHDATA/ExchangeTman/):
# First parameter: 1 = Yes; 0 = No by default.
# Other parameters: list of computer names with potential recipient users pc_name|user
PCH_PM_DIAL_EXPORT_DATAS_TO_ANOTHER_USER_ENABLE 0 PC1|user1 PC5|user5
PC1|user1: PC1 is the name of the computer that will receive the data with user1. Each pair is separated by a
tabulation and there can be as many pairs as desired.

In the task manager, the Export parts for another user icon circled in red below appears.
The selected parts will be exported to another user and the following message appears.
You can then select the computer corresponding to the user who will receive the parts in his task manager. If there
is only one receiver, the following dialog box will not appear.
The sheets compatible with the selected parts are also exported, but remain in the task manager of the user who
performs the export.
The exported parts are removed from the manager of the user who performs the export and the task manager's
dialog box cannot be canceled.

TopSolid'Punch
Tool overlapping by matter/thickness
A new configuration allows you to set the overlappings of each tool by matter and thickness.
In the tool management, a new Overlappings Per Matter/Thickness button is available in the tool's punch
conditions.
You only have to select a matter from the drop-down list, enter a new thickness and enter the overlapping values.
During calculations, if the tool overlapping is not found for the matter and thickness of the part, the system takes
the default values of the tool.
When copying data from one tool to another, you can choose whether or not to copy the overlapping parameters by
matter and thickness.
