Passion, a word we always hear. A word I encountered many times as
I read an article. A word that stuck my mind and made me ask, is there really a passion in my heart? The travel way to an end of reading was such an inspiration. I was really encouraged. None a single phrase I didn’t meditate about. And honestly, it brought greater learning and reflection on where am I as a teacher and as a leader. I am the only person who can evaluate what is within, but all that surrounds me can testify where I am and who I am to them. And yes, a great feeling of satisfaction and a little bit of lamentation caught me. Why? Because I know that passion is in me, but its’ fire doesn’t whack as it was before. A great leader must possess a great passion for in the latter there is power. A power to change life, a power to change what our national hero concluded, “Ang Kabataan ang Pag-asa ng Bayan”, a status of great transformation. It is a change for better that will only be realized if we, as a teacher and leader will be bottled-up with true passion. It is the dedication, enthusiasm, eagerness, zealousness, commitment, feeling, vehemence and intensity of what we have been called, is the true spirit of fulfilling our mission. A mission God entrusted us to do; the privilege of reaching our children. This is the reason why we have a so called child-centered curriculum. Knowing and fulfilling what they need, above all is our priority, regardless of the bulk of reports. Passion is the fruit of love. Dedication, honesty, integrity and temper are fruits of passion. Neither let others nor the situations of dilemma take your passion for this is the armor not everyone can have. It is within, it should always be within to shine. It should be managed balance for a better outcome. It should not be keep above pride. It should always be energized to make the most of it. It is not learned nor acquired. It is a God’s gift only few people can have. It should be use for a better purpose. It should be use for leadership. Leadership without passion is like boating without a paddle -without consistency and transparency of reaching what really our life aims to be. Everybody can be a leader but not everybody can lead with the touch of care and prayer. In whatever we do, in whatever situations we have as future leader, passion is a must. Yes, not all were given with great passion but everybody can have if we ask and put it into constant practice in order to develop. Leadership and passion works hand-on-hand. It is a two inseparable word for an absolute profession. It is the first and last step for producing a superb followers and receivers. In educational leadership, it is the aroma of success and of legacy. It is a virtue we must sustain. It is an asset we must remain. It is the candle whose light must keep on burning!
