How to Restart a Network of 4100ES
FACPs Containing BNICs at the Same
Time (Software Revisions Prior to 1.02.01)

Follow these steps and click the corresponding movie to view the procedure for restarting
a Network of 4100ES FACPs containing Building Network Interface Cards (BNICs) at the same time.
IMPORTANT: This procedure is only valid for 4100ES Panels prior to software revision 1.02.01.
If you have 1.02.01 software or later, refer to Tutorial F0106.
1. Connect your laptop to a 4100ES Node and perform a Local Panel Download.
From the Programmer toolbar, click Transfer, Network, Local Panel…, and then deselect the
“Apply Changes After Download” checkbox. Click the “Download” button to begin.
2. Perform Remote Panel Downloads to all other 4100ES Nodes on the Network:
A. From the Front Panel: Login at Access Level 3, “Enable Remote Download/Operations for all 4100ES Nodes on
the network”, and then enable “Front Port Connection”.
B. Before Downloading to each Remote Panel, deselect the “Apply Download Changes After Download” checkbox.
C. Download to each Remote Panel and a trouble generates for “Unactivated New Configuration Available”.
3. To restart all Nodes simultaneously, you must perform a Serial Download to the Node where you are connected.
A. Connect a Serial Download cable from your laptop directly to the Serial Connection on the 4100ES Master Controller Card.
B. From the 4100ES Programmer, click Transfer, Serial, and then “To 4120 Network…”
C. When this download is complete, all nodes will restart and the “Unactivated New Configuration” troubles clear.
