Troubleshooting
Information intended to help you to address or anticipate potential issues are pre-
sented in the following manner:
Specialized Text
The following specially formatted text is used to help you to differentiate certain
elements discussed within this manual:
Getting Started
• Tractor E Series
• Tractor REV-D
• Tractor NON-D
• Trailer
• Trailer TCS2
This chapter provides information to help you get started with using the application.
† Since this application is supported by both the Pro-Link GRAPHIQ™ and the Pro-Link® Plus, this manual uses
“Pro-Link®” to refer to both products.
Establishing Communication
Follow the steps provided in this section to establish communication between the
Pro-Link® and the vehicle’s ECU.
To establish communication:
1 Be sure that the Pro-Link® is properly connected to the vehicle and is powered
on.
3 Insert the application card. The system boots up and displays the following
screen:

Once the application is loaded, the screen displays the menu specific to the
system that was detected. For example, if a Trailer system is detected, the
screen displays the following menu:
Menu Hierarchy
The following menu options are available for all ABS systems supported by this
application:
• Summary
• Existing Faults
• Stored Faults
• Program ID
• Component Tests
• System Setup
Refer to Figure 2.1, on page 11 to locate specific application menus or features.
NOTE:
i The menus are shown in the order in which they appear on the Pro-Link®
display.
Making Selections
In order to use the features provided with this application, you will need to select
from various menus presented on the screen. Making selections typically involves
using the Pro-Link® arrow keys and the key.

Vehicle Voltages
Use the VEHICLE VOLTAGES option to monitor the two voltage signals powering the
Tractor ABS/ATC ECU for each diagonal.
2 Select VEHICLE VOLTAGES. The screen displays the data. For example:
DIAGONAL 1 13.9V
DIAGONAL 2 13.9V

ABS Valves
Use the ABS VALVES option to monitor ABS valve performance, one valve at a
time. Once a valve is selected, it undergoes a Decrease test, followed by a Hold
test.
During the Decrease test, the ECU commands the valve to decrease air chamber
pressure. Each cycle consists of five decreases in pressure with a pause between
the decreases.
During the Hold test, the ECU commands the valve to isolate air chamber pres-
sure, four times. This process is repeated for each of the four or six ABS valves.
The following menu options are available for selecting individual valves:
• L Front Valve
• R Front Valve
• L 2nd Axle Valve
• R 2nd Axle Valve
If the System Setup is 6 sensor, 4 valve, two additional valves will display in the
list:
NOTE:

valve.
2 Select ABS Valves. The screen displays the ABS Valves menu according to
vehicle’s system. For example:

NOTE:
i Wheel speeds are not available while vehicle is moving (more than 2
wheels).
Use the SENSOR OUTPUTS option to monitor the inputs from the wheel sensors, one
at a time. Rotate each sensed wheel and verify a speed reading on the appropriate
sensor.
1 From the Main Menu, select Component Tests. The screen displays the Com-
ponent Tests menu.

i During both tests (T1 and T2), verify proper operation and wiring of the
ABS valve.
During the T1 test, the valve is commanded by the ECU to decrease air chamber
pressure. Each cycle consists of five decreases in pressure with a pause between
the decreases.
During the T2 test, the valve is commanded by the ECU to isolate air chamber
pressure, 15 times. This process is repeated for each of the four or six ABS valves.
The following graph shows how a typical valve test would run with pressure
decrease and increase over time.
NOTE:
i A faint clicking of the internal solenoid can be heard. No change in the air
chamber pressure should occur. If air pressure decreases, there is a
wiring error to the ABS valve.
Before performing these tests, please note the following menu options, which are
provided to allow you to select individual valves:

NOTE:
i If existing faults are detected, the screen shows a message indicating that
stored faults cannot be erased, and prompts you to repair the fault.
The screen displays information for the Meritor Wabco ABS ECU. For
example:
• Trailer Voltages
• ABS Valves
• Sensors
• Service Info†
• Tire Calibration†
Trailer Voltages
Use the TRAILER VOLTAGES option to monitor the voltage signals powering the
Trailer ABS ECU.

TRAILER VOLTAGES
† V-300 Systems
2 Select Trailer Voltages. The screen displays the voltage signals. For example:
NOTE:
i Depending on the Trailer Wiring Harness configuration, the stop light
power (and continuous power if applicable) can be displayed as either
Secondary or Primary Power.
NOTE:
i For Enhanced Easy-Stop systems, the lowest voltage displayed is 2.8V.
Therefore, 0V will be displayed as 2.8V.
ABS Valves
Use the ABS VALVES option to monitor ABS valve performance, one valve at a time.
Once a valve is selected, it undergoes a T1 test, followed by a T2 test.
During the T1 test, the ECU commands the valve to decrease air chamber pres-
sure. Each cycle consists of five decreases in pressure with a pause between the
decreases.
During the T2 test, the ECU commands the valve to isolate air chamber pressure,
four times. This process is repeated for each of the four or six ABS valves.
The following graph shows how a typical valve test would run with pressure
decrease and increase over time.
Figure 3.2
The ABS Valves menu provides the following options for selecting individual
valves:
• Modulator Valve YE
• Modulator Valve BU
• Modulator Valve RD
NOTE:
i For easy location and differentiation of the external valve (BU), the testing
cycles T1 and T2 are reversed. RD is the same cycle as YE.
1 From the Main Menu, select Component Tests. The screen displays the
Component Tests menu.

SENSORS
The number in the right column indicates the sequence in which the sensors
were detected. Until a wheel speed greater than 7 revolutions per minute is
detected, the sensor shall display “<7” and the sequence number shall be
blank. Once a speed greater than 7 revolutions per minute is detected, the
sequence number shall be indicated along with the current speed. If the
speed falls below 7 revolutions per minute the greatest speed recorded for
the sensor shall be displayed.
NOTE:
i The sequence number and Max valve only available on V-300.
Service Info
Use the SERVICE INFO option to reset the service mileage, as needed.
NOTE:
i This option available for V-300 Series only.
To reset service information:
1 From the Main Menu, select Component Tests. The screen displays the Com-
ponent Tests menu.
2 Select Service Info. The screen displays the current service information. For
example:

Diagnostic Codes
This appendix provides listings of the diagnostic codes that appear on the Pro-Link® when
using the Meritor WABCO application.
The Society of Automotive Engineers (SAE) and The Truck Maintenance Council
(TMC) of the American Trucking Association (ATA) have developed a standard
data interchange format referred to as J1587. This format describes the messages
that are sent from one electrical device to another on a vehicle’s serial data link,
and defines:
