Design Questions to observe and note down as the key drivers of your style in the
“Kitchen Inspiration Visual Guide”.


• What colors are typically used? Are they mainly white/light colors? Or
darker colors? Blues & Green heavy? Or yellows, orange and reds?

• Is there high contrast in the kitchens you like the most? (i.e. lighter uppers
and dark lower cabinets or white cabinets with black countertops? Or black
and white or navy and cream?)

• Are the cabinets painted? Or stained?

• Are the cabinetry doors and drawer faces flat or do they have detail?

• Do the upper cabinets match the lowers in terms of style and color?

• Is the island a different design/color from the rest of the cabinetry in the
space?

• Are there floating shelves with dishes and plates stacked? Glass front uppers?

• What is the backsplash material in most of the kitchens you like best? Is it
tile? Mosaic? Stone slab? Does it match the countertop, or does it contrast?

• What is the countertop material? Is it marble, quartz, dark, light?

• What is the countertop edge detail you prefer, thick, thin, ogee?

• What does the hood look like in most of the images? Is it visible or hidden?

• Are the appliances hidden or visible? (i.e. hidden behind cabinetry/panel
front or Stainless Steel? White or black?)

• What does the sink look like? Is it visible i.e. an apron front/farmhouse style?
Is it stainless steel? Is it integrated/made out of the countertop material?

• What do the plumbing fixtures look like? Is the faucet more industrial with a
single hole? Or is it widespread with a separate sprayer? Are the finishes
mainly silver? Or darker, oil rubbed bronze or black?

• Do the metal finishes match in the space or are they varied for a relaxed
layered look? Is the kitchen you like all polished nickel accents, bright and
shiny? Or are the metal tones in the hardware, faucets and lighting warmer,
antique brass or bronze?

• What does the cabinetry hardware look like? Sleek & modern, or traditional,
bin-pull style?

• What flooring style tends to show up in most of your images? Is it wood?

Stone? Mosaic? What does the baseboard detail look like?

• What does the ceiling look like? Is it painted white? Are there any decorative
moldings or beams?

• What are the lighting details? Are there decorative fixtures hanging over the
island and sink? Or only recessed lights?
