This activity is intended to help you to present appropriate information about a


pharmacological agent (No more than 2 pages A4).

From App store Download “Drugs in Jordan” App. For you to Know drug’s trade and
generic names and doses.
Please remember to provide/write the name of selected drug so your colleagues are
aware of your selected drug …… (students are not allowed to choose same drug)
2. Using a word document provide the prescribing information of selected drug
3. Give a description of the selected agent by giving answers to the followings:
Description - includes the drug name (scientific name), non-scientific name (optional‫اختياري‬
), dosage form, the pharmacologic or therapeutic class of the drug.
Clinical Pharmacology - tells how the medicine works in the body, how it is absorbed and
eliminated.
Indications and Usage - uses (indications) for which the drug has been FDA.
Contraindications - lists situations in which the medication should not be used, for example
in patients with other medical conditions such as kidney problems or allergies
Warnings - covers possible serious side effects that may occur (e.g., boxed warning)
Precautions - explains how to use the medication safely including physical impairments and
drug interactions; for example "Do not drink alcohol while taking this medication" or "Do not
take this medication if you are currently taking MAOI inhibitors"
Adverse Reactions - lists side effects (most common only)
Use in specific populations (pregnancy (what category?, lactation (breast-feeding),
pediatric, geriatric)
Drug Abuse and Dependence–(only included if applicable)provides information regarding
whether prolonged use of the medication can cause physical dependence
Overdosage - gives the results of an overdose and provides recommended action in such
cases
Dosage and Administration - gives recommended dosage(s); may list more than one for
different conditions or different patients
Special handling and storage conditions (e.g., "Store between 68 and 78°F ")
