RESUME
There are some myths related to pregnancy is like to bring or wear something sharp on
my shirt (for example, small scissors or a pin, to bring a bangle inside my bag everywhere I
went. (A bangle is a species of plant in the ginger family and is also a relative of galangal.) It
is believed to protect you from any evil spirit and also to put a Sapu Lidi (a broom) made
from pohon aren (palm tree) in my room (for the same purpose as the bangle.)
Why do those myths exist until today? Is it really true because our country have a many
culture. So that many people still believe about myths, because it is ingrained and hereditary,
so it is very difficult to eliminate, I don't know for sure either. But I think some are
trustworthy and some are unbelievable. It all depends on each other's beliefs.
In a brief cultural assessment, you should ask about ethnic background, religious preference,
family patterns, food preferences, eating patterns, and health practices. Before the
assessment, know the key topics to address and know how to address them without offending
the patient and family
