the devil
was
adopted
as the
effigy of
the
festival.

Spanish
Folk Metal
group
Saurom
released
the song

carnaval
del diablo
>>,
dedicated
to this
holiday.

not, and
only once
a year
(January
6) they
gave them
a day off
to
celebrate
among
themselve
s and
manifest
their
cultural
traditions.

call this
party the
Matachina
da
(because
they
sacrificed
a beef),
and the
whites
were
interested
in the
subject,
because
of their
joy, and
they
began to
attend
incognito,
and that is
how the
costume
appears ”,
says
Sandra
Calvo
Pinzón,
mayor of
the
Riosucio
Carnival,
on the
origin of
the
festival.
