“Albularyo”

Many of these issues are portrayed well in the movie like in the scene where Ria wasn’t
able to cure the child of his illness due dirty water from the well and the patient going to
the “albularyo” and the priest to seek cure this shows the ethical issue of autonomy this
also show the right of the patient. Another scene is where Ria went back to manila to
seek funds for the much needed deep wells to solve the problems on the community of
Mulanay, Another example is where RIa called for the meeting of all of the people in the
community in order to solve the overlying problems in their barangay, There is a scene
also showing confidentiality the scene where Ria learned that Ogot was the child of
Norma and Lino. A scene where she told Elvis to go to the nearest hospital because
she can’t cure Elvis cut because she lacks the instrument on curing the wound.

If I were to decide on how to end the movie I will end the movie by making Ria
successful on making the people of mulanay united and because of their unity they are
able to solve the health problems and the mayor giving the budget on making the deep
wells that are needed by the barangay and eventually giving Ria the feeling of
accomplishment on her goals as a “doctor to the barrios” and because of this she went
back to Manila to continue her profession and she casually visit and help the village
when she have time.
