Argument
Summary of the article:
This speaks on how films in the late 1900s opeded up a world for gay and lesbian films to exsit throughout the
use of film festivals and watch party’s. This event gave birth to a soar in Queer Media.

What is the argument, main idea, or thesis?

The main idea is the soar in media throughout the 1900s and how it impacted Queer Media more and more as
time went on.

What lenses and/or perspectives are being used?

This is being looked at through the historical perspective as well as a psychological perspective.

Is it similar to another article or a counter to it? Does it align with one of your perspectives or refute it? Why?
An article that I would find similar to this one the article I read previously because it focuses on queer
characters and how they make or break an film. I would also say this conncets not only from a history
standpoint but from queer media being the center.

Method
Explain the method being used. Is it a method you could use?
The method being used is article analysis and yes I could definitely use this because finding and using different
articles is a must when trying to support my question.

Evidence
List two potential pieces of evidence that you would use in your literature review.

1. “Had so much ink ever been spilled in the mainstream press for such a cause? Basic Instinct was
picketed by the self-righteous wing of the queer community (until dykes began to discover how much
fun it was), while main-stream critics were busily impressed by the "queer new wave" and set to work
making stars of the new boys on the block.”
2. “Call it "Homo Pomo": there are traces in all of them of appropriation and pastiche, irony, as well as a
reworking of history with social constructionism very much in mind,”
Discussion
What were the main findings of the research?
Throughout my research like the last articles I found alot of information regarding just the history with Queer
Media in the 1900s and how it affects and still applies to pretty much our time now. Some of which calling the
new queer film era a new wave as it seemed to be a common trend around people and pushing out more
content to get stricken down when it came to producing on big screens.
