PHILOSOPHY: A WAY TO REALITY

Philosophy for me, has always been a mystery: its meaning, scope, and importance. Eventually, I
realized that it is such a big word for it weigh things critically, it studies reality seriously, and it assess and
decodes issues fairly. It covers a lot of things that involves us.

As human beings, we have an unending course of questions in which Philosophy aims to answer. For
me, Philosophy is a discipline which tackles all the possible aspects, perspective, and outcomes in our minds. It
is a development of how we started wondering to how we assess ang balance things. Each and everyone of us
deserves an ethical knowledge, trusted facts, and we deserve the reality itself and I think that Philosophy is
specially made to tackle all the concepts behind that. It does not bother telling me to solve math equations,
constructing a grammatically correct sentence but rather, it encourages me to explore, find an answer which will
lead me to reality, understand the values of life, understand the world, understand me as a human person. With
all the things happening around us, it is impossible to face reality and hold it within our reach for it does not
belong to only one person, it belongs to all of us. We all seek for the real reality as we are fighting over the fake
reality and over the unending unethical knowledge enveloping the world. In reality, Philosophy is actually
governed by time and space. Time makes the understanding of Philosophy wider and makes it expands it
knowledge. While space, space in which we all belong, it is impossible for reality to take place without space.
Meanwhile, I can also say that Philosophy has a relationship with Science as it can explain anything. As Science
continuously discover and experiment with things, Philosophy critically analyze the results and present the
knowledge become wisdom. By understanding and knowing the concept of Philosophy, I also dearly believe
that studying it sharpens and enhance my writing skills as it helps me weigh things critically before presenting it
as a wisdom. We desire for truth and so we search for answers that will satiate our hunger for truth, for reality
through Philosophy.

By presenting facts and understanding the concept of Philosophy, I can now say that Philosophy is a is
not created but rather discovered by us. We are not taught, not trained in Philosophy to learn and memorize
some facts, instead, we are trained under Philosophy to assess, analyze, and critically decodes issues to avoid
unethical knowledge. It tackles things that involves our curiosity, our wonder for it has no specific subject or
matter focus. Philosophy, as a whole, aims to explore our mind; not to transmit or teach a lesson but to
understand our mind, existence, and reality as a whole.

SPINE/JOINT: TIME AND SPACE – The spine/joint supports or holds the book to its place. The spine holds
the cover that protects the book signature from falling apart. Just like in Philosophy, the time and space governs
it and connects us to reality.

MAGNIFYING GLASS: MIND – As we continuously ask questions and seek for answers, Philosophy exists to
give justice to our wonder. As a representation, I used magnifying glass for it is used to see things clearly.
Figuratively speaking, we can say that a magnifying glass can represent our minds that seek and find answers to
our questions. We use it to explore and find the things we want to give justice to.

BOOK SIGNATURES: SCIENCE – As Science continuously studies and discovers things, Philosophy helps by
analyzing each discovery and studies critically and present it after proving it’s truthful and worthwhile. In the
model, I used book signatures as the representation for Science as it is enveloped by the hardbound cover of the
book, which in our case, represents Philosophy. If we will look at the model from a wider perspective,
Philosophy holds Science in its hands as it decides whether the knowledge can be considered wisdom, same as
to the book, the cover holds all the signature (content) inside which make it seem as if it is the guide of the
contents to the reader.

HARDBOUND COVER: PHILOSOPHY – Philosophy is the common ground of all the elements stated in the
model. Philosophy serves as the guide to truthful and factual understanding of the values of life and
understanding yourself. The cover of books is usually the one being judged, but in our case, Philosophy, we aim
to look at all possible aspects and possible outcome and have a decent, fair assessment. Science is under
Philosophy but they work together to teach the values of life. The cover of the book and its signatures work
together to bring information to its readers.

ORANGE: BOOKMARK – A bookmark is used to mark the page we left the last time we read the book. When
we read a book, it is necessarily to start from the first page and so on and put bookmark into the page we
stopped reading, a sign of development as time passes by because we advance to other pages. Same to
Philosophy, we start analyzing things from the beginning and patiently wait until we reach the factual truth.
And as we do this, we encounter development as there is discovery and study that keeps showing.
