1. General

1.1 Knowledge before operation (use)

Please read carefully this manual (esp. warning & notice) before the products is used.

And then use and apply to these correctly.

Nevertheless, if you don’t understand how to use, please contact with us – the contact

line is below - and solve the question and then deal with installation, operation,

maintenance.

This manual has to be delivered primarily to persons in charge of operating and

maintenance.

And we wish that this manual keeps close to you so that can read whenever need.

1.2 Cautions for Safety

Keep this Caution to use products safely and correctly to prevent before any troubles

and dangerous cases are occurred.

For using the function of products sufficiently and safely, use products after reading

carefully this Manual.

The Caution means as below and consist of 2 kinds:

When user does violate this Manual instruction, it

1.2.1 Warning

WARNING

1. Do not repair work when Power is ON and electrical circuit operated. Otherwise this
will make Electric Shock to user.
2. Do not cabling work and disassembly work, except for the regular inspection, even
when Power is not connected. Otherwise this will make Electric shock to user.
3. Do not work and touch the product with wet hands. Otherwise this will make Electric
shock to user.
4. Do not use when a Cable is peeled off and damaged. Otherwise this will make
Electric shock to user.
5. Do make sure fastening and fixing after installation of product.

1.2.1 Notice

NOTICE

1. Please use the input power within allowed range. Otherwise this will make product
damage and may cause fire.
2. Please do not make water or foreign substance input to product. Otherwise this will
make product damage and may cause fire.
3. Please use correct parts that correspond to those products. Otherwise this will make
product damage and may cause fire.
4. Please do not make product inside cabling change by arbitrary. Otherwise this will
make product damage and may cause fire.
5. Please do handling or maintenance by trained and qualified technician only. If
persons at random do, this will make product damages and trouble.

1.3 Quality Guaranty

The period of quality guaranty of products applied to this manual is one year from the

day of supply to site. But the consumable parts are not applied to quality guaranty.

For period of quality guaranty, the troubles caused by products’ defects will be free of

charge, but that by user mistakes and misuse will be charged.

3. Installation

3.1 General
The Light equipment is supplied after assembled and tested to meet with usages.
The Light equipment is supplied under KS, IEC, ICAO, FAA, MAK regulation
requirement and Light capacity, color and intensity can be decided with user to meet
with airfield site condition.
The Light is installed in conformance to ICAO and FAA installation requirement and
the procedure of light installment is as follows.

3.2 Tools for installation

The Tools for installation work must be prepared and refer below list.

 Jig for line arrangement with optical device


 Torque Wrench
 Ring spanner set
 “L”type wrench set
 Silicon grease
 Driver
 Other necessary tools

3.3 Check points before installation

The Deep base(box) or Shallow base(box) must be installed before Light to be


installed with requirement as below.

 Is the light position is met with KS, ICAO, FAA and MAK Requirement?
 Is the base box arrangement met with requirement?
 Is the Isolation transformer connected with series circuit and secondary
receptacle is connected with flange?

3.4 Installation of light equipment

The Light must be installed in the Deep base or Shallow base and this method is
followed as below procedure.
The base(box) installation method is followed by FAA AC 150/5340-26. However, if
user request special installation method under their country regulation, it can be
installed as with agreement to installation method.

WARNING
1. The Light installation and repair works must be done after power OFF.

NOTICE
1. The light and the flange part contact with base box shall be not allowed to damages, not
mixed with foreign substance, clue, etc.

2. Install the light after water removal from base box and pipe. If not, the ice which the
resident water is turn into at cold weather may be damage to the Light.

3. The light and secondary cable of Isolation transformer must be strongly fixed.

4. Do not move at assembled condition of light with Isolation transformer and secondary
lead wire connected.

5. Change correctly after checking that the light is same type with beam color of light.

6. Clear away all jig & tools after installation work is finished at site. When clean work for
lights, the washing brush and bar should be used – made of Plastic material to prevent
damages to light fixture.

3.4.1 Installation procedure

1) Confirm Base box installation meet with light beam direction & ground level is well

arranged before light installation work. Please refer manual of Base box installation if

need.

2) Inspect base box may have any damages after installed.

3) Clean inside of base box and must be clean to prevent water.

4) Lay light on soft surface by lower side to be up.

5) Connect to secondary cable receptacle of Isolation transformer from light secondary cable

plug (FAA L-823 2pole plug or P3A). Please clean before connection for conductor (Pin &

socket) and rubber surface.

6) Tape the connection part with EPR tape and PVC insulation tape.

7) Please assemble Light with base box and arrange cable not twisted and lump.

8) Please arrange Arrow direction, Beam direction and color is met with instruction.

9) Fix the light by torque wrench with 30 N.m torque on the base box and coating on bolt for

loosing protection agents (Loctite, NYLOK).

4. Maintenance and Procedure
4.1 Check period & check points

This Precaution, Maintenance and Repair works are very important for Aircraft safety
operation. The below checkpoints are recommended by FAA for Elevated type Light.

4.2 Trouble status & action for maintenance


Please follow up as below action for trouble shooting.
Do change assembly of light at site and then troubled light must be repaired at
maintenance shop to reduce runway shut-down time.

5. Fixing method when out of order

5.3.1 Changing bulb(LED module)

remove out-of-order PCB

- Change new PCB and put together in adverse direction of

6. Storage and Transport

6.1 Storage
1) All light equipment was delivered as form of packing in each box. We recommend
that you would indicate the information about the contents on the box.
2) All Light equipment was stored in indoors where has no dust and dry condition.

6.2 Surrounding condition for storage


1) Location : no dust and dry place
2) Temperature : -55℃ ~ +70℃
3) Humidity : less than 90%

6.3 Transport
1) When load up packages, heavier boxes is located in bottom section and lighter
boxes in upper section.
2) In case that many small boxes put in the one exterior box, indicate the information
about the contents on the exterior box.
3) In transport, selves, boxes and containers can be used.
4) When container is opened, boxes must be taken action before hand by preventing
from dust.
5) The general or international regulations must be kept during transport by air or sea
shipment.
