THE DOT COM CLUB

The Dot Com Club being the official club of the IT and
BVoc(SD) department, is an entity “of the students, for the
students and by the students”. Every year, we try and
upgrade ourselves with the trends of the time and hence,
give the students a plethora of opportunities. This year, we
have progressed substantially from good to great as it has
been a year of innovation and dedicated development. The
members of the Dot Com Club volunteer every year in the
official admission process carried out by the college and
handle a major part of the entire back-end procedure
handling as well as during the confirmation of seats during
the merit lists.
Young minds at work: A
glimpse into our
discussion club
The discussion club is a new
initiative started by the
department of IT and Bvoc(SD)
that gives a platform to students
to present and publish their
report papers in various
publications. The students
research on a certain topic and
prepare a report for the same. If
the report gets accepted then
they get to present their ideas in
a conference and their report
gets published. The discussion
club helps the students in the
process of creating the report
and also in the presentation. The
students put-forth their ideas and
get feedback from the teachers
and students regarding their
topic. This is a really great
platform for the researcher in
every student.
About 1% of all babies are born with
heart defects. A fraction of them deal
with serious heart conditions. At the
University of Maryland Medical center,
the doctors utilized 3D printed models
of the heart to anticipate the
anatomical differences they would find
during the transplant, increasing the
chances of a shorter and more
successful surgery.
This technology is also being widely
used to design prosthetic limbs and
tools for surgery, and over 100 of
these models have already been
approved. The projected market for
3D printed technology is expected to
grow into a 2.3 billion dollar economy
by 2020. The research in this field is in
the beginning stages. Ongoing
research focuses on printing living
tissues from cells and producing
human skin to cover wounds and
burns.

Technology is field that is ever changing and is revolutionizing
several crucial aspects of our lives such as education. Colleges
around the country are equipping themselves to provide the best
education. Jai Hind’s implementation of technologies such as
projectors, bio-metric attendance, centralized servers and the use of
“Google Classroom” as a common platform to share academic
resources assists the students in learning and helps the teaching
faculty teach more effectively. Edutech is changing the paradigm of
regular studying. Applications such as unacademy, duolingo and
buzzmath have been implemented by several teachers in various
colleges to effectively delivery the content of the syllabus to the
minds of the students. With the use of iPads and applications such
as Moodle, teachers can manage courses and assign work with the
ease of a click.
