Clown Bar - Summary & Character

Summary
This clown noir play revolves around the quest for the Happy (the
former clown) to avenge his brothers killer. To achieve this feat
Happy, a detective on a mission, crosses paths with a gang of
crime-committing, dangerous clowns. Once, genuine circus
performers, now devious dangerous mobsters - still keeping the
colourful wigs and face paint. They get their fix through drugs,
sex, and murder.

Happy: A detective, and former clown, on a mission to solve his


brothers murder. To do this, he encounters clown gang members
and former lovers.

Timmy: Happy’s deceased, junky brother. His killer is unknown,


his murder is unsolved, but Happy is hoping to do him justice.
Additionally, he does appear in the play during memories.

Dusty: His role is the bar crooner (pianist who specialises in the
smooth genre.) He spends his days dwelling/moping around,
longing for more. He is a depressed clown.

Bobo: He is the leader of the crew, and keeps keeps everything


ship shape while he’s at it. He also owns the bar, and disparages
Happy - does not want him back.

Giggles: A simple goon with a bit of brawn about him. He possess


psychotic traits, he even giggles just before he kills someone,
hence the name. He serves Bobo as a henchman, plus his role is to
explain the rules.

Shotgun McGhee: Both bartender and clown henchman. Also one


of Bobo’s muscular boys, but this one is known for the arms he
bears: a shotgun.
Twinkles: This member of the group is one of the smartest
clowns. He’s an extremely secretive character.

Popo: This dazzle is considered an attractive clown, but is equally


as violent, and everybody knows it.

Blinky Fatale: Happy’s former girlfriend, and now currently


Bobo’s girlfriend. She is know for her fiery tongue and feisty
nature. Her role at the bar is burlesque dancer.

Petunia: Now, petunia is the forever needed cocktail waitress, an


essential asset to the bar. Also, she is as poor as a church mouse
and will do anything to make a bit of cash.
