The topic will deal on the genitourinary system its anatomy, functions and diseases that are

commonly seen in pediatric patients. List of renal diseases will be given here while the most
commonly seen ones will be discussed during a synchronous session thru zoom. And on the
last hour of the session the students will be divided into 8 groups consisting of 5 students/ group
and they will discuss a case which will be given and come up a written report on the said case

Diseases will be presented based on those:

a.) Manifesting with hematuria or proteinuria

Upper Urinary tract disease Isolated Renal disease


• IgA nephropathy/Berger’s disease
• Alport syndrome/PSGN/MPGN/RPGN
• Thin glomerular BM nephropathy
• Membranous nephropathy
• Focal segmental GS
• Anti-GBM disease

Lower urinary tract disease


•Inflammation (infectious/noninfectious)
•Cystitis/urethritis
•Urolithiasis/trauma
•Coagulopathy
•Heavy exercise
•Bladder tumor
•Factitious syndrome

Multisystem disease

• SLE nephritis/HSP nephritis/PAN


• Wegener GN/Goodpasture syndrome
• HUS/sickle cell GN/HIV nephropathy

Tubulointerstitial disease

• pyelonephritis
• interstitial nephritis
• papillary necrosis
• acute tubular necrosis
b.) infections involving the upper and lower urinary tract
c.) Others

Vesicouretheral reflux

Voiding Dysfunction
