1. Project Title:

Sim enabled wearable for monitoring covid-19 suspects under self-

quarantine

2. Executive Summary: (Half page, single spaced)

(Project Description) – Provide a description of your research proposal,
written in terms easy for someone outside your field. Include specific goals
you plan to accomplish.
3. Introduction and Statement of the Problem / Project :
(Half page, single spaced)
As the spread of covig-19 is severe it is very essential to track the
people in quarantine after being suspected. As of now containing the suspect in
a region and monitoring needs more manpower

ABSTRACT
Recent advances are driving wearables towards stand-alone devices with cellular
network support (e.g. SIM-enabled Apple Watch series-3). Nonetheless, a little has been
studied on SIM-enabled wearable traffic in ISP networks to gain customer insights and
to understand traffic characteristics. In this paper, we characterize the network traffic of
several thousand SIM-enabled wearable users in a large European mobile ISP. We
present insights on user behavior, application characteristics such as popularity and
usage, and wearable traffic patterns. We observed a 9% increase in SIM-enabled
wearable users over a five month observation period. However, only 34% of such users
actually generate any network transaction. Our analysis also indicates that SIM-enabled
wearable users are significantly more active in terms of mobility, data consumption and
frequency of app usage compared to the remaining customers of the ISP who are mostly
equipped with a smartphone. Finally, wearable apps directly communicate with third
parties such as advertisement and analytics networks similarly to smartphone apps.
5. Research Objectives: (Half page, single spaced)
Include your project’s overall objectives as well as specific goals you plan
to accomplish.

To Design a quarantine monitoring system for covid affected cases in

oman.
This monitoring helps the control the spread of outbreak.
6. Research Methodology: (Half page, single spaced)
[Describe your Implementation Plan,Time-line and Milestones]
 Clearly state how you plan to accomplish the goals listed in your
project description. Identify the specific steps necessary to perform
your research.

In this paper the idea has been suggested in two stages. First phase

consists of making a plan to decide the variables such as temperature ,

blood pressure and location of the person under quarantine. The second

stage consisting of developing an android application to interface the

wearable through cellular network. This wearable will monitor the

condition of the person and will send information to the pandemic

outbreak control. As people are travelling by air , this wearable can be

given to those who are found with initial symptoms and allowed to

enter a region for self-quarantine. This is a simpler monitoring system

that avoids complications and avoids privacy related issues to the

individual.
