In education, independent learning is always present in school, house, library, and etc.

with the changes in education, this study is conducted to determine the students' knowledge and

attitude towards independent learning. A quantitative descriptive research design using survey

technique was employed. The participants of the study were the Grade 12 students of St. Paul

University Surigao. the main instrument that was used to solicit for information is a researcher-

made questionnaire consisting of two (2) parts. Mean and Standard Deviation, Frequency Count

and Percentage Distribution. and Analysis of Variance (ANOVA) were the statistical tools used

in this study.

With the help of these individuals, we were able to identify in terms of age that 68% of
them are 18.
Furthermore, The females has the higher ratio rather than males in participants.
As to the students’ Knowledge towards Independent Learning, we found out that the learning
need of students is highly perceived. Now, the responsibility for learning is also highly
perceived, and as for students attitude towards independent learning is qualitatively describes as
highly perceived

Though there is a substantial difference in variables, knowledge, and attitude when

students are classified by age, there is no significant difference in students' knowledge when they

are categorized by sex. Furthermore, when students are divided into groups based on their sex,

their attitudes shift significantly.
