Dear Friend,

Good day, my friend, how are you doing these days? I am glad to receive your email
and it is indeed kind of you to ask me for some information about my home country. I do
hope this letter finds you in radiant health and the best of spirits. I couldn't express
through words how much I get excited when I heard the news that you're planning to
reside here in the Philippines soon. It was a long time ago since we met and there is so
much to share with you.

My home country is the Philippines and I am sure you've always heard from me how
Filipinos are very hospitable and friendly people. Always smiling no matter how they
feel. I assure you that choosing this country as a place to reside wouldn't be that hard
and it'll be lots of fun too. Worry not, for I will guide you on how you could communicate
with the people here too. It's really easy. Firstly, Filipinos are fond of non-verbal
communication. They use hand gestures, pursing of lips, raising of eyebrows, and their
eyes to communicate. They are less dependent on spoken words. They have a sharp
intuitive sense or what we call here as the " pakiramdam " for what is implied and not
stated. In our country, a smile has various meanings. A smile is not always meant to
convey happiness but can mask embarrassment, the nervousness of feelings of
insecurity. If they do not want to respond to a question, they may just smile. Another
piece of advice is that a respectful way of addressing an elder or someone older or one
with a high and respected position in society is to say "po" or "ho" at the end of the
sentence. In the Philippines, parents and other elders are never addressed on a first-
name basis. When you don't know something or you are having a hard time looking for
something, do not hesitate to ask.
You got the best choice. Our country is known for the natural beauty of nature. Many
places in the Philippines show their unique beauty. You will also enjoy staying here due
to different activities such as festival that shows the culture in each place, beautiful
destination from beach, waterfalls and many more. If you are craving to heal your skin
from the sun, the Philippines is the best place. You can all try our unique dishes. Aside
from the destination, Filipinos are highlighted for the hospitality and warm welcome that
we can offer to you. Philippines is one of the countries in Asia that we can consider as
FRIENDLIEST COUNTRY. We Filipino people are very proud of our country and
culture. There is no reason to be alone because you will belong to an extended family.
We Filipino accept and welcome you as a member of society or a family. We are fun of
inviting people specially preparing yummy and unique foods. When it comes to your
expenses you can find a cheap price for your needs. Communicating with the locals is
not a big problem. Since English is one of the official languages, mostly Filipino knows
how to speak and understand it. Later on, staying in the Philippines you will realize that
you are already know how to speak the local language. If you want a quiet life away
from an unhealthy lifestyle you can choose the Philippines. Leave a simple life, friendly
society, and breath with fresh air. People here were not hurt you but instead, offer love
from you.

Filipinos are very hospitable that they even treat foreigners like their flesh and blood.
And that's what travelers appreciate the most. On top of the beautiful sceneries,
fantastic food, or cheap travel costs, it's the people who make the most impact. Most
likely because — It's More Fun in the Philippines!

Very truly yours,

Ma. Sofia Madeline N. Borja
