 Boom Hoist Control Station is movable pendant type station. Normally it is stored in the electrical room.

Inching Pushbutton Station is located at the top of pylon next to the boom locking pin. To be able to use the

3 WARNING AND SIGNALING DEVICES

3.1 Gantry Travel Warning Equipment


Gantry Travel Warning equipment are provided on the crane to warn personnel that the gantry motion is
running.
Equipment is consists of 4 units installed on each 4 corners on the crane legs. Each unit contains an audible
warning device and a flashing light.

3.2 Alarm Horn


The operator can warn the personnel working on the dock or ship’s deck.
The alarm horn has been installed on the headblock.

3.3 Aviation Obstruction Lights


There are three red aviation obstruction lights on the crane:
 One at the top of pylon
 One at the boom tip, in horizontal position when the boom is lowered
 One at the boom tip, in vertical position when the boom is lowered
When the boom is lowered, the light at the top of pylon and the vertical lights at the boom tip are illuminated.
When the boom is raised over 45, the horizontal lights at the boom tip are illuminated. The light at the top of
pylon and the vertical lights at the boom tip are switched off.
The obstruction lights are equipped with a back-up power battery, which is able to maintain sufficient lighting
level for 8 hours.

3.4 Public Address System


By the Public Address system the operator is able to issue speaking instructions to the personnel working on
the dock or ship’s deck.
The Public Address system consists of a gooseneck microphone and an amplifier in the operator’s cabin and
a loudspeaker outside the cabin.

4 COMMUNICATION EQUIPMENT

4.1 Video Monitoring System


The video monitor in the operator’s cabin gives better visibility for the operator from the dock below the rear
part of the crane.
The camera has been installed outside the cab.

4.2 Internal Telephone System


A battery less internal telephone system enables communication between the stations located as follows:
 One in the operator’s cabin
 One in the electric room
 One in the machinery room
 One in the docker’s cabin
The system also consists of two headsets with 10 meters connection cable. Plug boxes for the headsets
have been installed close to the telephones in the electric room and machinery room.
Operation instruction:
Making a call to another station:
 Lift the handset.
 Select the line by means of the line selector.
 Crank the generator 6-7 turns clockwise until a sound signal can be heard.
Answering a call from another station:
 Lift the handset and press the pushbutton on the handset. Keep the Button pressed at all times
during conversation.
After one 6 - 7 turns cranking, charged energy is sufficient for 20 minutes conversation at normal speaking
volume. If required, crank 6-7 turns again to return volume to the normal level.
