With these reports, you can automate the setup of ALE Customizing to enable master data transfer from an
enterprise management system, such as SAP S/4HANA or SAP ERP, to decentralized Extended Warehouse
Management (EWM) based on SAP S/4HANA.
To establish the master data transfer from an enterprise management system (sender system) to
decentralized EWM system (receiver system), you use ALE IDoc communication. You configure the ALE
Customizing in the sender and receiver systems. As there are several repetitive steps and usually the
default setup is used in most of the cases, the steps can be automated. The reports set up a default IDoc
communication between the systems. You can also manually configure additional Customizing.
OVERVIEW
You use the following reports for the complete setup of the ALE Customizing.
• A report for generating the necessary reduced ALE IDoc message types
• A report for the sender side configuration
• A report for the receiver side configuration
You can adjust default settings like message type names, filter values and advanced settings in all the
reports.
Every report has a Check and Change Mode. In the Check Mode, the report reads and checks the existing
Customizing without making any changes. In the Change Mode, the report checks the Customizing and then
saves the changes. The reports use Customizing requests to collect all changes in the systems. The result of
the report can be adjusted manually, if necessary. The reports do not overwrite any existing Customizing.

Report for creating reduced ALE Message Types
Report /SPE/R_DEC_EWM_REDUCE_MESSTYPE
Client Dependent No
The communication with an ALE IDoc is done using messages based on message types. There are several
basic message types for common objects like customer, vendor and material. These message types contain
all available segments and fields. When you use a decentralized EWM connected to an enterprise
management system, you do not need all possible segments and fields in the communication. For this
purpose, we recommend using reduced message types. A reduced message type contains a subset of
segments and fields of a base message types.
In decentralized EWM, we recommend that you reduce the message type for customers (based on DEBMAS), for
vendors (based on CREMAS), and materials (based on MATMAS). You can create the reduced message types
manually in the systems, or the report can do this automatically.
There are some fields which are not maintained as filters for base message types. If you create the reduced
message types with the report, the following fields will be maintained as filter fields: Sales Organization and
Company Code for customers, Purchasing Organization and Company Code for vendors; and Storage
Location for materials.

Report for the sender system
Report /SPE/R_DEC_EWM_ALE_CUST
Most of the settings of the ALE IDoc communication are to be done in the sender system. There should be
change pointer activation, ALE distribution model generation, ALE port settings, partner profiles and
conversion rules. You can execute these steps manually in the systems, or the report can do this
automatically.

• The system sets up dependent distribution between material message type and batches, and
between material message type and classifications.
• The system sets up dependent distribution between customer message types and addresses, and
vendor message types and addresses.
• The report sets the following default filters in the ALE distribution model:
o For message type CLFMAS - "Class Type" = "022" OR "023"
o For message type CLSMAS - "Class Type" = "022" OR "023"
• The report sets the following adjustable filters in the ALE distribution model. You can change the
default filters in the corresponding fields.
o For the reduced message type for materials for Material Type and Material Group. If you
select the Activate Enhanced Filtering and Transfer Options checkbox, then Plant and
Storage Location are also added as a filter.
o For the reduced message type for vendors for Vendor Account Group. If you select the
Activate Enhanced Filtering and Transfer Options checkbox, the Purchasing
Organization and Company Code are also added as a filter.
o For the reduced message type for customers for Customer Account Group. If you select
the Activate Enhanced Filtering and Transfer Options checkbox, the Sales Organization
and Company Code are also added as a filter.
Under Further Process Steps, you can make the following settings:
• If you select the Create Port for IDocs checkbox, the report creates an ALE IDoc Port for the
sender system to enable ALE message sending.
• If you select the Maintain Partner Profiles and Outbound Parameters checkbox, the report
creates partner profiles for the receiver system in order to send IDoc messages to it. The necessary
outbound parameters are set to the partner profiles for the IDoc message types.
• You can set the IDoc mode for the outbound parameters. The following options are available:
o Immediate IDoc Mode: The system generates an output for each IDoc immediately.
o Collective IDoc Mode: The system generates a collective output for all the IDocs at a
defined time.
• If you select the Create Conversion Rules for Material Maintenance Status checkbox, the report
creates conversion rules for material maintenance status.
o You can set a prefix for the conversion rule name.
• When you execute the report, a new entry is created in the maintenance view /SPE/V_EWM_DEST
and the receiver system is set as decentralized EWM in the view. For further details see SAP Note
2881061 (Decentralized EWM: Enhanced Settings for ALE Data Transfer).
• If you select the Activate Enhanced Filtering and Transfer Options checkbox, enhanced filters
are set for the corresponding message types. Additionally, in the maintenance view
/SPE/V_EWM_DEST enhanced filter and data transfer options are added to the new entry.
Under Settings, you can execute the report in the following modes:
• You can select the Check Customizing radio button, to display the existing entries in the
Customizing and their current status. In this mode, no changes are saved.
• You can select the Check and Perform Customizing radio button to save the changes in the
Customizing.

Report for the receiver system
Report /SCWM/R_DEC_EWM_ALE_SETUP
Only few of the ALE IDoc communication settings have to be made in the receiver system. There should be
partner profiles maintained. You can execute these steps manually in the systems, or the report can do this
automatically.
