EDIBLE CELL MAKING

GENERAL INSTRUCTION:

Make a cell model, either a plant cell or an animal cell, by using edible materials (ex. Gelatin,
candies, cupcakes, fruits, etc. ) You may choose what food you want to incorporate in your cell
model.

Your model must include all of these organelles:

 Cell wall (if plant cell)

 Ribosomes
 Cell membrane
 Mitochondria
 Nucleus
 Vacuoles
 Cytoplasm
 Lysosomes (if animal cell)
 Endoplasmic Reticulum
 Chloroplasts (if plant cell)
 Golgi Bodies

You may use the following materials, but they cannot count as part of the cell: container, plastic
wrap, paper, or toothpicks. Keep in mind that these projects will be eaten after they have been
graded. Make a video of yourself presenting your finished cell model and attach photos of your
cell model in the worksheet below. Your output will be graded for accuracy, completeness,
creativity, and neatness. You will also be graded on your presentation for your explanation and
delivery. Do not forget to label your cell model.
