 To ensure strict compliance to their department/division operational safety and security functions and
also ensuring operation are provided with necessary resources

 To ensure that departmental/divisional risk management process is proactive and concurrent and that all
safety concerns/issues are dealt with on priority basis.

 To be aware of all safety and service quality requirements and to be responsible for the outcomes and
findings of all internal and external safety/ quality audits.

 To ensure that corrective and preventive actions are taken at the root-cause levels on all audit non-
conformities and audit findings in an acceptable manner within reasonable time frames.

 To ensure strict compliance (by own self and by the subordinate staff) with all HSEQ standards and
other legal or regulatory bodies requirements; applicable to operational areas under their jurisdiction at
all times during conduct of normal operations.

Principal PIA Training Centre 3.7

 Assess current and future training requirements of the Airline and make proposals and plans to meet
them economically and effectively. Implement, direct and execute the programmes / plans approved by
the Management and monitor the achievements of the Training objectives.

 Coordinate and exercise overall supervision on all activities and administer the overall functioning of
the PIA Training Centre.

 Liaise with manpower and personnel divisions regarding requirements for management development
training.

 Coordinate with all departments to ascertain short and long term training needs throughout the
Corporation.

 Develop specific curriculum for the user departments so as to achieve the desired training objectives as
and when required.

 Ensure that standards of instructions conform with the procedures and standards as laid down by
Corporation, Director General Civil Aviation Authority and other International Regulatory Agencies
wherever applicable and maintain close liaison with all concerned.

 Ensure continuous evaluation of all training programmes by most effective methods and carry
improvements in the light of results achieved.

 Develop the standards of performance by analyzing the results of training and adopt suitable
performance measuring systems so as to ensure overall improvements and effectiveness of training.

 Develop and maintain suitably qualified and trained instructional faculty and support facilities required
to impart training in their diversified environments.

 Maintain an awareness of development in the training field and direct incorporation of new techniques
in the Training Centre.

 Evaluate the local and foreign educational and training institutes for the purpose of availing their
facilities in the areas of training where so necessitated due economic considerations or other constraint.

 Negotiate terms / conditions for training PIA personnel by outside Agencies / Airlines.

 Seek to provide PIA training facilities to outside Agencies / Airlines with a view to earning revenues
for the Airline and develop cordial relationship.

 Negotiate terms for training staff from other Airlines / Agencies subject to management, approval and
capacity being available.

 Negotiate with aircraft manufacturers so as to ensure availability of trained manpower at the time of
induction of a new aircraft.

 Prepare weekly training schedule as required by seniors

 Remind Chief Instructor about planned events, meetings, classes, etc.

 Responsible for the security of information, office equipment and records.

B. Job Description & Responsibilities:

 To ensure strict compliance to their department/division operational safety and security functions and
also ensuring operation are provided with necessary resources

 Assist the Director Training & Development in the formulation, coordination and implementation of
policies for the PIA Planetarium under control.

 Ensure implementation of strategies and policies given by the Governing Body of PIA Planetarium.

 To assist Director Training & Development and Governing Body of PIA Planetarium in establishing
and maintaining a credible PIA Institute of Planetarium, Astronomy and Cosmology, and enhance its
public image.

 Direct and monitor the areas of operation, finance administration of PIA Planetarium under control.

 Ensure that the necessary financial and operational data are available as and when required.

 Ensure that necessary measures are taken for the security of PIA Planetarium property, buildings, and
aircraft.

 Make policies for generation of additional revenue, and up gradation of various Programmes shown in
PIA Planetarium.

 To ensure timely submission of annual budget to the concerned authorities.

 To have strict budgetary and financial control through Finance control through Finance Secretary of
PIA Planetarium.

C. Job Objectives (if defined):

 Minimizing expenses of all Planetariums.

 Increasing sales/revenue of Planetarium.

 Beautification of Planetarium ground/surrounding.
