1. Executive Summary

This report is submitted in limited satisfaction for the course Human Resource Management, School
of Business, Independent University, Bangladesh. This report was done to have a more profound
comprehension of Human Resource Management of an organization in a handy way.

Human Resource Management (HRM) is the term used to portray formal frameworks conceived for
the administration of individuals inside an association. The duties of a human asset chief fall into
three noteworthy zones: staffing, worker pay and advantages, and characterizing/planning work.
Basically, the motivation behind HRM is to augment the efficiency of an association by advancing
the viability of its representatives.

Mondol group is an integrated knit garments manufacturing and exporting composite unit in
vertical way. The group started its business in 1991 with a small garment sewing factory. At present
the group has facilities for yarn spinning, fabric knits, dyeing finishing and garments cutting sewing,
finishing, packaging and exporting. This group has total 28,366 employees. Its sewing capacity is
350000 Pcs/Day, knitting capacity is 100000 kg/Day, Dyeing Capacity is 58000 kg/Day. Its annual
turnover is about 300 Million US Dollar.

3. Company Overview

Mondol group is a consolidated knit garments manufacturing and exporting composite unit. The
group started its business in 1991. Mondol Group Started export in 1995. Initially in 1995 the annual
export was $3.20 million dollars.

At present the group has facilities for yarn spinning, fabric knits, dyeing finishing and garments
cutting sewing, finishing, packaging and exporting. Mondol group has 8 Complex.

Within 19 years this annual turnover dramatically increased. Here we showed last five years annual
turnover. Last year, its turnover was $300.00 million dollars.

7.1 Mission

Mondol group is working to engage effectively, maintaining responsibly and increasing profitably in
the global textile industry. Besides, its main mission is to become a Brand that is known for its
distinctive and uncompromising quality.
Mondol Group is promised to produce world class garments of men’s, women’s, children’s and
kid’s. We strive to make sure our customer satisfaction with our product quality and on time
shipment schedule.

7.2 Vision

Mondol group is creating a diversity channel to its valued stakeholders. This group is initiating to
become a window through which all their products will become available to their customers with
maintaining best quality, compliance, ethics, values and sustainability

Manufacturing and suppling best quality product with best price with maintaining the marker
demand and requirements.

8.1 knitting

Mondol knitting Machinery facilities area equipped with world class knitting machineries. The
company started manufacture with a firm with determination to manufacture international
standard quality fabrics.

8.2 Dyeing

The dyeing section processes 100% cotton fabrics, 100% polyester and blended fabrics and. Mondol
Group uses highly environment -friendly dyes of the best quality.

Dyeing Capacity 58 Ton Per Day.

Mondol group is using top-quality machines and the latest printing technology to produce T-Shirts,
polo shirts, hoodies and other clothing types.

Mondol group is equipped with high quality embroidery machines with unique design and facilities.
Besides, it maintains computerized machinery system and processing facilities which is full
equipped with latest technology and design.

9. Morals, Ethics, Values

Mondol group is cautious about their moral, ethics and values. They strictly follow compensation &
benefit policy, Child Labor & Remediation policy, Industrial Health & Safety, Working Hour Policy,
Environment Policy, In-house Medical Facilities etc. Due to maintaining their Moral, values and
ethics they are very much renowned in the market which not only helping them to maintain their
present customers but also adding their sustainability in the market.

10. Recruitment & Selection Process

Mondol group try its best to recruit the candidates from different types of sources. Mainly it
recruits employees from the references of inside employees.
At the beginning, the group places its need assessment (vacancy in existing position, market
expansion or new position). then the company check that whether the group has internal
employees or not who can replace that position. If not, then the company goes for external
employees. Then the company advertise in National dailies and different job portals like BD JOBS or
Charkri.com. in Bangla language. Then after shortlisting through written test and other assessment,
the group goes for final interview and select the employees/ workers who will be best fit to
complete the job.

11. Training opportunities for the employees

11.1 Identify Business Impact

Mondol group identifies their employee’s lacking and then point out those lacking issues which are
impacting their business activities. Then the company arranges training facilities for those issues
which are impacting their business.

11.2 Analyze Skill Gaps

Mondol group analyzes the skill gaps in their employees. In some issues, the company use their
floor supervisors and officials to identify those workers and employees who are not skilled at their
day to day activities. Then the company arrange training for those employees.

i. Employees who has lacking in self-motivation.


ii. Employees who doesn’t have proper hands on training.

11.3 Layer Training Methods

Mondol group follows layer training method. It is because, with this training the company can
facilitates all its employees and workers. This training method is step by step training method. This
training method is sustainable cause this training includes all semi and low level skilled employees
training facilities.

Layer training includes 4 important different part. Those are:

11.3.1 On Job Training Method

This training method includes below process:

 Coaching
 Job rotation
 Internship

This training method is less expensive, flexible and highly motivated to learn more.

11.3.2 Off Job Training Method

This training method includes below process:

 Case study
 Business games
 Role play

This training method is suitable for higher level employees and this method increases the crucial
thinking power of the employees

11.3.3 Internal Training

This method is cost effective cause in this training method the employees and workers don’t have
to go outside the office premises of Mondol Group.

11.3.4 External Training

In this training method, Mondol Group takes their employees and workers outside of their office
premises and then they attend seminars, conferences and also other garments visiting to view how
their employees and workers are carrying their day to day tasks.

11.4 Evaluate Effectiveness and Sustain Gains:

After the training, Mondol group testifies and evaluate the effectiveness of their training and
analyze the gains which is supposed to be sustainable. If Mondol group finds out that the
employees who failed to catch all the training learnings. Then the group follows from layer training
method. With this process, Mondol group effectively fulfills their training process and gains the
benefits which are sustainable in nature.

12. Promotion process

Mondol Group is not possessive to promote their employees and workers. It is very much crucial
process cause if the company promote wrong employee then it will have to face serious issues later.
Due to this critical thing, Mondol Group doesn’t compromise to promote correct employees and
workers who are more suitable and eligible.

There is a process which Mondol Group follows. This is as follows

 Critical analysis of the performance of employees and workers


 Analyze half yearly and yearly appraisal
 Conducing an interview
 Promote the employees.
12.1 Critical analysis of the performance of employees and workers

Mondol Group critically analyze the performance of their employees and workers. To conduct this
analysis, Mondol Group uses their directors, supervisors and officials.

After the analysis, Mondol Group analyze the half yearly and yearly appraisal which is very much
confidential. Below is the appraisal marking

Score 5 Exceptional performance, process improvement and adding value which


increases profitability of Mondol group.
Score 4 Excellent performance with process improvement & adding value to Mondol
group.
Score 3 Good performance with adding value.
Score 2 Average performance and need training.
Score 1 Very low performance and need hands on training from beginning.

12.3 Conducing an interview

After the appraisal, Mondol group conduct an interview of those employees who gain score more
than 4 and less than 2. It is because; those employees who gain more than 4 will get promotion and
those employees who get less 2 will be sent to their first stage training process.

12.4 Promote the employees

After the interview, Mondol group promote suitable employees. If the employees get less than 2
and fails in the interview will be sent to hands on training.

13 Incentives & benefits

13.1 Salary

Mondol group follows below salary steps as per the approval from Chairman and Managing
director.

13.2 Bonus

Mondol group provides bonus to its employees and workers in total 3 times. In Eid-ul-Azha and Eid-
Ul- Fitr employees and workers get bonus equal to their basic salary. But in Pahela Baishakh, they
get 50% of their basic salary.

13.3 Performance bonus

Mondol group provides performance bonus to their employees and workers equal to 25% of their
basic salary and gets profit share at a certain percent subject to the approval from Board of
Directors.

13.4 Provident fund & gratuity

Mondol group follows as follows:

a. Contribution to Provident Fund (PF): An amount equivalent to 10% of monthly basic salary shall
be contributed towards this fund.

b. Contribution to Gratuity Fund (GF): An amount equivalent to 30 days of your basic per annum
shall be contributed towards this fund for first 10 years after confirmation. Post 10 years, the
amount contributed towards this fund would be 45 days of basic per annum.

13.5 Annual increment

Mondol group annually increase the salary of their employees and workers based on their whole
year performance. The group increase their wage and salary from 1 % to 10%.

13.6 Travel and transportation allowance

Employees of Mondol group who comes from very long distance gets travel and transportation
allowance. Besides, Mondol group provides bus service to the employees and workers. Travel and
transportation allowance are provided to those employees and workers who don’t have access to
bus facilities.

13.6 House rent allowance

Mondol group provides house rent allowance to its officials and workers. This is 10% of their basic
salary and wage.

Besides, Mondol group facilities house facilities by searching house rent for those employees or
workers who come from village.

13.7 Medical facilities

Mondol group has in-house medical facilities. This is very much helpful for the employees and
workers. Besides, if any workers or employees get sick then they get 50% of their medical bill which
is very much helpful for its employees.

13.8 Food and snacks

Mondol group has canteen facilities. In which, employees and workers get free lunch and snacks in
the evening. If they want to have extra food then they will have to buy from the canteen.
13.9 Child Care Centers

Child Care Centers aimed for the female employees are also installed as and where it is feasible to
incorporate. They can also keep their child in a safe and comfortable place and work with sound mind
and give their maximum

14 Compliance

Mondol group follows all the compliance which is supposed to have in any group of industries. Due
to following all the required compliance, Mondol group’s sustainability and market value is
increasing day by day. Those compliances are:

14.1 Central Fire Detection System

Mondal group has central Fire detection system with smoke detector. If fire catches, then
automatically fire alarm will start.

The group bought this system from UK and it has 4 photo electric heat detector system. This
system is supervised on daily basis by the technicians.

14.2 Emergency Hydrant System

Mondol group has emergency hydrant system. Which can provide a flow of 2900 lit/mn for about 3
hours with canal reservoir water system. In the canal there are 600000 litres. This technology has
been bought from Japan.

14.3 Safety Training and fire exits

Mondol group provides safety training to its employees and workers. This is very much important
for its employees and workers. With the help of safety training and also practicing fire exits, Mondol
group fulfills all the requirements of compliance.

14.4 Electrical Safety

Mondol Group strictly follow electric safety and the group also train its employees and workers
cause recently Bangladesh faced severe issues due to electric issues.

15 Observation and suggestions

Mondol Group follows all required compliances, values, ethics and conduct. But still after all the
analysis there are some shortcomings. Those suggestions are:

 Mondol Group needs to increase its environment facilities. Even though there are good
environment, but it is not sufficient enough to gain sustainability. There are some space
issues.
 There machines of Mondol Group need to check in each week because it may cause harmful
issues to the workers if not checked properly.
 Mondol Group need to place lift facilities in its building cause in normal working hour
employees and workers can use that facilities.
 Mondol Group strictly follow steps in providing annual profit bonus. It becomes possessive
in this context. The group needs to flexible in this step.
 Mondol Group need to arrange foreign training facilities to the employees for better
organizational management and gain sustainability.

There are some observations and suggestions for Mondol Group.
