How to moderate it
It could be extremely hard to moderate something that you have become addicted to, but it is
possible to do. There is not just one method as well, you could sit down with your family and
decide on a time that you set yourself with screen time and you would not go above this time at
all. A second method if the first does not work is to only be allowed to go on your screens when
you have finished all your other work that you have such as school, and any other activities that
you are doing, this will help you to not have your gaming and other life clash but are able to do
them both happily.
Benefits of moderation
If you do take the steps to moderate it you will instantly see the benefits of it, like when you are
able to give more time to your schoolwork and not let gaming take up all your time so that you
can do your work that is much more important. Your mental health will increase, you will be
able to be happier when you let this load get off your shoulders and be able to feel free.
Sometimes when you get this addiction it can incredibly reduce your productivity but when you
get free from this addiction you will be able to see a huge spike in your productivity.
Symptoms of it
Here is a list of some symptoms that you need to look out for.
1. When at school or doing something other than gaming you keep thinking about gaming
2. You feel sad and mad when you cannot play
3. If told to stop playing you cannot
4. When you neglect your friends or other hobbies
5. You cannot set a limit for yourself
6. Using it to escape from stressful situations
7. Lying about how much time you spend playing
8. When it gets too expensive, and you must sell personal belonging
Side effects
Their side effects are horrible, your mental state will decrease a lot if you get into this loop of
playing video games and nothing else, productivity of everything you do will also decrease,
sport teams that you are in will not want to have you in their teams when you do not show up
to the practices and are at home playing video games when they are playing their sport game,
or if you are at the games and your focus is only on what you are going to do when you get
home. Family will also start to get angry at this addiction of yours causing conflicts between you
and them.
Emotions 2.5
Video games can make you have a higher level of aggression to others when playing the game.
It also makes you develop anger issues if it is a constant issue for you. When you are in this
state of anger it can also make bad choices like breaking things near you. Making you regret
your first choice to do so. Another thing about aggression is that when you are disturbed you
can have a higher chance of yelling at the person and reliving your anger on them instead of
controlling that anger yourself. It also makes you have a bunch of different emotions other than
anger, but this was the main point that I wanted to mention.
Productivity
When you are playing video games first thing or not it can very well limit the time you can
spend doing other productive things. It puts all your focus on the video game and little on what
you need today. Some examples are like your chores that you need to do but you are
preoccupied by the game you are playing today and forget about doing the chores causing
more trouble the three needs to be.
Procrastination
Procrastination Is a big part in video games because when you get back home you have a big
urge to get on your games and relax on you game and not do work then you say to yourself, I
will do it later you say it again 1 hour later. A big downside of video game addiction is that it
makes you put the more important things aside and make the less important things more
important than they are. Letting go of the work you should have done by putting it. Aside for
later after you are done your own work
