JAPANESE CONVERSATIONAL PHRASES

Instruction:
Find appropriate references (books, magazines, websites, fb pages, blogs/vlogs, podcast,
and other online sources).

List 40 Japanese phrases or sentences that are used in common conversation and its
operational English translation, i.e. when doing self-introduction, giving greetings,
casual/formal conversation, showing emotions, etc.
Examples:
1. Ohayo gozaimasu – Good morning
2. Hajimemashite – Nice to meet you
3. Genki desu ka? – How are you?
4. Aishiteru – I love you
5. Sumimasen – Sorry/ Excuse me
6. Sugoi ne – It’s great/amazing/terrible!
7. Oyasuminasai – Good night/sleep

*Note:
1. Do not include the examples.
2. Include the polite form only, as much as possible.
3. Better presented in table form (2 columns)
4. Maximum number of pages: 2 long-sized bond paper
5. Page margin of 1 inch at the top & bottom and 3/4 inch at right and left sides; single-spaced,
Font 12 (Times New Roman and serif fonts), Font 11 (Arial and san serif fonts).
