Foreword
This translation has been made based on the original Japanese Industrial
Standard revised by the Minister of International Trade and Industry
through deliberations at the Japanese Industrial Standards Committee
in accordance with the Industrial Standardization Law. Consequently
SIS H 2211 : 1992 is replaced with JIS H 2211 : 1999.
‘Though there is no International Standard corresponding to this Standard,
JIS H 5202 Aluminium alloy castings, which is related to this Standard,
has been revised to make conformity with the International Standard,
therefore, the purposes of this revision are to conform to JIS H 5202.

Aluminium alloy ingots for castings
Introduction This Japanese Industrial Standard has been revised on purpose to
make conformity with JIS H 6202 Aluminium alloy castings, having relation to this
Standard because JIS H 5202 has been revised to make conformity with the Inter-
national Standard.
1 Scope This Standard specifies aluminium alloy ingots (hereafter referred to as
ingots”) to be used for permanent mould castings and sand castings or the like which
are specified in JIS H 5202.
2 Normative references The standards which are listed in Attached Table 1 contain
provisions which, through reference in this Standard, constitute provisions of this
Standard. The most recent editions of the standards indicated in Attached Table 1
shalll be applied.
