Remarks: International Standards corresponding to this Standard are as follows. ISO 3622; 1984 Cast aluminium alloys—Chemical composition and mechanical properties ISO 2878 : 1972’ Aluminium alloy chill eastings—Reference test bar ISO 2379: 1972 Aluminium alloy sand castings—Reference test bar ISO 7722: 1985 Aluminium alloy castings produced by gravity, sand, or chill casting, or by related processes—General con- ditions for inspection and delivery 2 Normative references The standards listed in Attached Table 1 contain pro- visions which, through reference in this Standard, constitute provisions of this Standard. ‘The most recent editions of the standards indicated in Attached Table 1 shall be applied. 3 Symbols of classified types The symbols of classified types shall be as indi- cated in Table 1, Table 2, and Table 3. However, the agreement between the parties concerned with de- livery can permit to take a sample from every several meltings. b) Test sample shall be cast at each mould for casting. ©) The mould from which test sample will be taken shall be made of cast iron for permanent mould, and for sand mould, the material for sample casting shall be principally the same as used for the sand casting. STD.JIS H S202-ENGL 1999 MM 4933608 0564733 554 mm 10 115202: 1999 d) The shape and dimensions of mould to prepare test samples shall be as follows. 1) The shape and dimensions of test piece mould of permanent mould casting specified in Table 1 and Table 2 shall be as shown in Fig. 1 and Fig. 3. In the case of ACTA, AC9A, and AC9B, however, follow Fig. 2. 2) The shape and dimensions of test piece mould of permanent mould casting specified in Table 3 shall be as shown in Fig. 3. 3) The shape and dimensions of test piece mould of sand casting specified in Table 1 and Table 2 shall be as shown in Fig. 4 and Fig. 5. 4) The shape and dimensions of test piece mould of sand casting specified in Table 3 shall be as shown in Fig. 5. 6.2.2 Test piece Test pieces shall be prepared from the test sample specified in 6.2.1, and for permanent mould casting, the test piece prepared from the mould shown. in Fig. 1 or Fig. 3 shall be subjected to the test as it is in casting surface. The test piece taken from Fig. 2 shall be picked up at the location shown in the figure, and finished as No. 4 test piece specified in JIS Z 2201 to be subjected to the test. For sand casting, the test piece taken from the mould specified in Fig. 4 or Fig. 5 shall be subjected to the test as it is in casting surface. 6.2.8 Test methods Test methods shall follow JIS Z 2241. 7 Inspection 7.1 General matters The castings shall conform to the requirements in 4. If the tensile test is specified to be carried out using a test piece which was cut out from the casting itself, it shall follow the agreement between the parties concerned with delivery. In this case, it is preferable that for permanent mould casting the resulted tensile strength is at least 75 % of the values in Table 7, Table 8 and Table 9 and for sand casting the resulted tensile strength is at least 75 % of the values in Table 10, Table 11, and Table 12 (however, in the case of ACTA, AC9A, and ACB, it is at least 65%), and that its elongation value is at least 25 %. 7.2 Analysis sample The sampling methods and general matters for analysis sample shall conform to JIS H 0321. 8 Repair of castings Castings shall not be repaired with such as plugging with metal, welding, brazing, and the likes. When purchaser gives an permission, how- ever, the treatment as repairing at defected spot and checking of leakage may be performed. 9 General matters for delivering The general matters to be decided when or- der is made shall follow the agreement between the parties concerned with delivery. 10 Marking According to the agreement between the parties concerned with de- livery, if necessary, the following items shall be marked on the castings with an ad- equate method. a) >) ° STD-JIS H S202-ENGL 1599 MM 4933608 0564734 490 mm i 1H 5202: 1999 Symbols of classified type or corresponding ISO symbols, and symbols for tem- per or corresponding ISO symbols.
