eBay, one of the first companies to create and
market an Internet Web site to match buyers
and sellers of goods and services was once
headed by him. It is a company, which caters
to individual sellers and small businesses, is a
market leader in e-commerce
worldwide. eBay is headquartered in San
Jose, California.

“Healey, there are two types of
leaders: Knowers and learners. Always be a
learner.”
The goal is to be open to change and be
willing to adapt change. While few would
expect eBay to push into hardware, the
company's early experiments suggest that it
could yet aid retailers in merging offline and
online commerce and finding better shopping
experiences through connected devices. To
that end, eBay has separated its lab from its
main headquarters, nestling it in downtown
Campbell near the public library and
historical museum, to better focus on its
projects.

Cypher, realized the company was missing
out on a major business opportunity. At the
time, eBay offered only e-commerce services
to its clients. Despite the growth of Internet
retail, the majority of consumer purchases are
still made within 15 miles of a consumer’s
home. Many eBay retailers told Cypher they
wanted a physical retail presence as well.
After that, Cypher assembled a team of
engineers to develop tools that could be used
to create an eBay presence in physical stores.
The engineers created an interactive storefront
that Toys'R'Us eventually installed. Over the
following two years, the engineers did the
same for TOMS, Sony, and Rebecca Minkoff.

These made a big contribution to his
success specially in saving their company’s
life and to become successful. Being resilient
is crucial since it allows him to stay on course
to accomplish his/her objectives after losses
and difficulties. Getting something fresh in
the mind helps in using his imagination and
ingenuity to solve challenges in the
workplace. Finally, developing a resilient
mind allows him to be more driven, to
improve everyone’s skills through a broader
variety of tasks, to create a stronger
professional relationship, and to succeed at a
high level in order to face their challenges.

Diosdado "Dado" Banatao Jr. from
Iguig, Cagayan Valley, dubbed as the "Bill
Gates of the Philippines," is a famous Filipino
engineer, inventor, and a business visionary
and designer working in the innovative
business. He and his business colleague
Francis Siu established a high-innovation
organization “Mostron,” beginning with a
capital of a large portion of 1,000,000 US
dollars which was later on recognized as a
manufacturer of motherboards. Diosdado was
credited with having built up the initial 10-

only on profitability. She also developed
this product according to the needs of
other people. This shows her characteristic
of being goal-oriented and effective, and
this mindset is what usually drives a
business that focuses on its goal and
desires to achieve at a high-level, to
thrive. Plus, the risk-managing mindset
will set and achieved the desired goal
even when the probability of succeeding is

She is one of the Filipinos who are
successful social entrepreneurs under the age
of 40. She grew up in Negros Occidental,
among sugarcane farmers. She is twenty-one
years in the sector and came ahead in 2014
with her founding of AGREA International.
The name was a combined word of
“agriculture” and “Gaia,” a nod to nature.
AGREA International is a Filipino
agriculture-focused and an inclusive business
that empowers farmers and their communities
as impactful agents of change. They are
focused on making the Philippine archipelago
an agricultural sustainability by building the
One Island Economy model that was guided
by three major goals: Zero Hunger, Zero
Waste and Zero Insufficiency.

The quote she said shows how determined a
Filipino should be to be able to make some

with a positive mindset. An entrepreneur
helping the people who are our source of food
in order to learn and have more knowledge
about farming is proof that we all can act
accordingly as long as we are determined..
We need to see the real value of a thing to
have an economical change that will help us
to get up from the dirt.

She said that problems in the pursuit of big
dreams should be met with bravery to
acknowledge and learn from failures.
Reminding everyone, not only the farmers,
that we should dream big and get the
opportunity to make changes and have a
successful life. Failures don’t define who you
are unless you give up. When we are feeling
down and can’t get what we wish for, let us
fight again and give our best to have it. Bad
times don’t last, failures are there for us to test
our limits, not reach them.

She has the attribute of having the confidence.
A confidence that drives an individual to
easily adapt to change and have the
determination to learn. Entrepreneurs like her
can help other aspiring entrepreneurs to be
competitive, to dream big, and to not give up
after failing. Many people can acclimate what
these characteristics to become successful in
their journey as entrepreneurs.

Incorporating these qualities she possesses
into her business, she became a founding
farmer and CEO of AGREA International.
She became one of the successful social
entrepreneurs. Determination and bravery are
part of the characteristics that an entrepreneur
should possess. If you have the confidence
and positive mindset, your struggles and hard
work would pay off, just don’t give up and
things will get better. “Philippine agriculture
is so broken,” stated by Atilano. That’s why
she made a step to give knowledge to the
farmers about the right things to do in
farming. Being open to change, a risk-taker,
and a determined woman, Atilano was able to
aid our abating source of food, the farmers. At
last, she achieved her goal and kept winning
awards like the Women in Nation’s Service,
Inspiring Filipina Entrepreneur, Awardee of
Women of the Future Social Entrepreneur in
South East Asia, etc.
