Walking is an excellent way of introducing great outdoors. In today’s life you spend a lot of time indoors. But
walking in the neighborhood or along a given route allow you to become more aware of the buildings, trees etc. that you

It helps in the development of appreciation and respect for your beautiful environment . Start this module by doing the

SCAVENGER HUNT
Alleyway
-A common thing about our barangay is that we have a lot of alleyways which
basically are narrow roads that are used as shortcuts when walking.

Mount Kappugan
-This place was used as a hiking and a tourist spot area before the pandemic. It is
5km from sitio Wingiyon and it takes about 2hrs at most to reach its peak.

Bae Rice Terraces

-This is where most of the farmers in our area plant rice crops. It is located at the
lower part of the barangay.

Abandoned Native houses

-It is located at the middle part of the sitio called Huyung in our barangay and it used
to be resided by our forefathers before the inception of modern houses.

Barangay Hall
-This is where all the meetings, festivals, and other celebrations in our barangay are
held and it also is the workplace of the barangay officials. It has a fair open space
which is just enough to hold a basketball game.

Ambabag Eco Park

-This is the latest project of the Sangguniang Kabataan in celebration of the Linggo
ng Kabataan during the month of September.

Guesthouse
-This is the nearest to our house compared to other places I’ve mentioned because
it’s just 50 meters away. Tourists usually stay there because it is overlooking the
whole of Ambabag. It’s a bit far from the other sitios because it is located near the
forest part.

How did you feel about giving closer attention to your environment? Describe the air outside
as compared indoors, the places you have found and the people you have met and in general
the whole environment. Write your reflection below:
I usually take walks around our area but I normally don’t go to the lower part of our
barangay where most residents are because the way back home is tiring. I also don’t mingle
much with other people so seeing that most of them were surprised that I was still in our town
made me realize how much I lacked in socialization. I always loved hiking and any activities
involving nature so it was pure bliss to be able to move around again after a long time of
staying indoors. I would say that our environment has become greener and feels a bit
cleaner. I am accustomed to the smell of chickens and other pet animals since we raise a lot
of them at home, and walking around had me thinking that no matter how comfortable it is to
stay indoors, the air and scenery outdoors provide a different time of healing.
