On September 8, 1998, Lucio Co, a Chinese-Filipino businessman, founded Puregold


as a company engaged in the wholesale and retail trading of goods through the operation of
hypermarkets and supermarkets. It is well-known for providing bulk products for small stores
or called sari-sari stores in the Philippines. The company started offering its shares of stock to
the public last 2011 and since then, the company is in active drive to continuously increase the
number of its branches all over the country. As of now, Puregold company owns 471 branches
of Puregold supermarkets that is selling different consumer goods, home products, and other
commodities.

MISSION: The company’s mission is to provide every Filipino family with products, services,
and business opportunities. Create long-term relationships with suppliers and business
partners. Meanwhile, strive to promote their employees' personal and professional
development. And commit to profitable results to stockholders.
VISION: The company's vision is to be the most customer-oriented hypermarket, providing
one- stop shopping convenience as well as the value to its customers.

GOALS: The company’s main goals are to focus on modern grocery retail, to make higher
margins from improving economies of scale, to engage in-store network expansion to drive
revenue growth, to make traditional retail remain a major growth driver, and to be a key
player in the industry consolidation.
